Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Yeah, I only say this because the original blurb announcing the show (I forget where) mentioned a two hour premiere and the writer and director were the same for both episodes. A writer doing a twofer isn't rare, but it was a little odd for a director to do two episodes back to back. Obviously...

    Dangerman

I don't know about cuts, but the Timeless Home Video release of the show has VERY poor sound in the last two b&w episodes. They sound like they were recorded underwater. However, the A&E release is fine. No idea about Network, though.

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

The only down side is that it's only part one. From what I recall, the pilot was actually filmed as a two hour premiere but was spit into two episodes (with different titles). So you don't get very far. My only real issue with the series (other than the unresolved cliffhanger finale) is that...

Scott Atwell Star Trek Discussion thread (Series and Films)

I’m totally gonna be that guy…I am not particularly fond of This Side of Paradise. It really falls in the “lower middle” of the run for me. A number of episodes from that portion of the season land that way for me. It’s got a great hook and wonderful moments, but I just don’t seem to enjoy this...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

I totally agree! I loved that series and was crushed when it was cancelled. Daly was great in the lead.

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

It probably would have taken Gerard's hand off before actually twisting free, but that's what we've got. It's kinda like the TV trope of a character being thrown from a car as it tumbles down an embankment (I'm looking at you "Incredible Hulk").

Yeah, they made the focus of the 40th Anniversary releases be to match how the music sounded in the episodes. I really welcomed that in Year 2, as far as providing the mono cues. There are real differences in what you hear comparing Wadsworth's mono and stereo music. I wasn't crazy about some of...

That did cross my mind and I'm wondering if the mono tracks were film stems or timed to fit what they were hearing in the UK if they were comparing them to SD video prints. The HD Blu Rays would run them at the proper pitch and timing. Other CD releases of the music were fine and I have the...

Is anyone overly familiar with the Space:1999 CDs from Fanderson? I feel like some of the cues in the Year Two 40th Anniversary set, like the mono main titles and the main titles for Destination Moonbase-Alpha run too fast. I went and changed the speed on my digital files and they sound better...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I tend to fixate on the reviews/recaps of shows in a genre that I enjoy the most, so forgive me if I don't respond directly as much as others do, but I do enjoy the light tone and details in your posts. The screencaps are always choice. I need to seek out Peter Gunn. I loved Mr. Lucky when I...

    Gary Coleman Movies

I only remember the NBC TV movies he did at the height of his fame. "The Kid with the Broken Halo" and "The Kid from Left Field."

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Naw, they won't address it later, although you will see how he filed off his own. In the unaired pilot, which is only on the Most Wanted Edition set, we see Gerard's wrist carries a brutal scar from the handcuff. @HubbaBubbaKid got the implication right as to how Kimble got free. I'm glad...

Blu-ray Review The Flintstones The Complete Series Blu-ray Review

Is that from a different episode, or just a different scene kicking it off? That's a weird thing to do.

Scott Atwell Star Trek Discussion thread (Series and Films)

I find it ironical that Paramount+, which owns the shows, has old, crummy prints of Star Trek: The Next Generation while Netflix carries the remastered prints. And that nobody by Amazon Prime wants to run the original effects versions of The Original Series.

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Most shows before the 2000's were like that. Weekly viewing, and maybe stripped in syndication. That's how they were filmed. That's why shows like The Fugitive and others can blend into one long episode.

Yikes. No legit idea other than that's just what Paramount gave them. Some streaming services have different versions.

I Dream of Jeannie vs. Bewitched

It was the 60's. It was NBC. The series started with Tony engaged to Melissa, General Stone's daughter. Jeannie's desires were verboten because, well, Tony was getting married. It did, however, show him that maybe being married wasn't the brightest idea for him. SO a few episodes in (and it...

    Where is Warner Archive?

After being an amazing resource, Warner Archive has been a string of frustrations and disappointments. I loved their output, but the website was pricey for DVD-Rs. Then their streaming channel was amazing. I got to watch a ton of shows I never would have blindly purchased and they actually ran...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

They actually did in the premiere episode. It wasn't much, but it was something along the lines of "I worked at InterTech, I disagreed with the machines so I quit." Really just a quick line or two, but that was it. I'm just disappointed that Campanella came back for a guest show later in the...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Right, exactly that, I didn't mean time. The episodes are still 50 minutes each. There are 4 episodes per disc. I suppose dual layer discs are too much to ask for at that price point....

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I noticed it in "Bird of Prey" Part 1 in the 8th season. The picture wasn't nearly as sharp as, say, The Fugitive or Star Trek on DVD. Maybe "compression" isn't the right word, but I noticed edge pixelization and a general fuzziness. It wasn't the same crisp image I'm used to from CBS DVDs...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

So, I picked up the first season of Mannix at Big Lots for like $5. I got sucked into this series. I saw a lot of them on Me-TV, so I knew it could be good, but Mike Conners is the perfect leading man, something a series of this type really needed. However, I have to agree with the decision to...

Anyone excited for Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie?

Betwitched was one of a number of 60's series remake films that just went out of their way to simply use whatever name regonition there was. This should have been and oculd have been a really nice update with Jim Carrey and Nicole Kidman in the leads. Will Ferrell was horribly miscast. The...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Agreed, you can't binge a series like this. It's numbingly simplistic all at once. The next one, "White Elephants Don't Grow on Trees," is one of my favorite episodes. It perfectly captures the series format and ticks off all the boxes: 1. Guest character conflict (era specific dreamer and...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Recently I have been revisiting the 1970-just barely into 1971 TV series The Immortal starring Christopher George. This extremely short-lived series is the weekly follow up to the excellent movie of the week by the same name. George plays Ben Richards, a test driver with a really bland name...

When the Star Trek Original Series Soundtrack Collection came out, I considered making "scores" for tracked epiodes. I did exactly one: The Corbomite Maneuver. It was a hideous challenge to make that epiodic score into a decent listening experience. After that, I had a huge appreciation for the...

Yeah I pretty much agree on all of these. The Grams book is incredibly good and I wish he did the other Irwin Allen properties rather than Cushman. The Messman/Van Hise book is just bloody awful. Probably the worst of them. Alpha Control Press was great in its day, before we had these shows on...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I’ve been getting through The Untouchables 1990’s series. It’s not bad, but clearly not a classic. It suffers from having the team vs Capone every single week without the benefit of serialization. In the days of the original series, Capone was in prison and they went against Nitti on and off...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

This is definitely not one of my favorite series, especially compared to The Twilight Zone and even Alfred Hitchcock Presents, but the wonderfully creepy vibe of the series used to chill my young blood when it ran during the overnight hours in New York. I toyed with buying the official episodes...
