    Best film restoration companies?

Thanks. Where then does HDR come into play? Are 2 masters created? It would seem risky to have HDR baked into the master only to have to remove it if and when improved technology arrives and I know it will.

Perry Mason HBO Miniseries! Spoiler Alert Advisory

Years ago I read a few early Perry Mason pulps. The first is ”The Cat with the Velvet Claws.” Perry was always a lawyer in the novels that I read. He wasn’t a stickler for rules and refs. The novels were so popular they immediately started a series of movies which I enjoyed being a fan of...

Regarding the intermission in Taza: per 3dfilmarchive.com “BONUS QUESTION: Why do 1950's 3-D movies have an intermission? All Golden Age 3-D features had a built-in intermission point around the 50 minute mark. This point was known to the creative team during production so the scripts were...

    Dr. Cyclops – Blu-ray Review

Nice review. I can at last stop buying this film. I have the Laser Disc, the DVD and the new Blu-ray. One of my favorites. Gorgeous! My Dad called me to watch this every time it was on TV. As a kid I was unaware it was a color movie.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Beau Geste - in Blu-ray

While that is true I believe that without support for physical media the choices will evaporate. My point is that we should support physical media as best we can. Support what you love. I realize, as well, that at this time in history discs are a low priority and money might be better used by...

New Warner Bros. logo sparks controversy

I was born in '48 and prefer that logo. It’s classic, like me. The new logo seems fit for cartoons or other studio ephemera. It looks like somethhhing a student in photoshop could knock out in 15 minutes. Shameful!

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

I, like 20 to 30 million homes have internet with less than 10 mbps and often less than 3 due to my “rural”location. Physical media is my best option. I will not Buy what I cannot touch. I am a fan of extra content which is rare and sparse on streaming platforms.

A year without feeding my Blu-Ray addiction...

I agree. This is a crucial time for physical media. A purchase is, in fact,a vote for the type of media and content that you are willing to buy. A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Post -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Mr. Harris, It seems there is an uptick in film based content. Fro example, Westworld season 1, Dunkirk etc. I assume the raw material is all sourced from Kodak. I viewed the" Guns" the other night and found it to be as I remembered it with the exceptions of those discrepancies that my eyes are now trained to see. Mr. Harris explained them all in his initial review. Overall it was a great success. The picture is clear enough to notice, for example, a...

I saw "The Guns of Navarone" multiple times during its original release. I remember two scenes in-particular that struck me as grainy. The scene in which Anthony Quinn discovers the spy with the knife and later scenes with James Darren dueling with his machine gun. I was young teen then and...
