Crawdaddy,
That's quite a compliment, especially considering what RAH had to say about the Blu-ray back in 2012:
"As to specifics, image quality in terms of overall resolution is other-worldly. Color is dead-on perfect. Shadow detail, superb, along with image steadiness. Grain structure...
A Four Star series that I would like to see come to DVD is Michael Shayne, a private detective series starring Richard Denning that featured many well-known guest stars. I have about half of the episodes on bootlegs that vary in quality from pretty good to barely watchable.
A bit of "Damn Yankees" trivia.
Although the film is based upon the Broadway musical of the same name, the musical is adapted from a novel called "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant" by Douglas Wallop, published in 1954. The title of the book is significant because the New York Yankees had...

I can't quite match that, but I have a Panasonic Blu-ray player that's never been out of its box. It's there just in case. I also have a Sony DVD player that I've never used. I have the same model in my bedroom but the remote broke. When I went to price a replacement remote, I found that it was...
When I was about ten years old I was looking through my parents' record collection and I came across a box set of 45 RPM Christmas carols by Mario Lanza, who I had never heard before. When he reached the finale of "The Lord's Prayer" his voice sent a shiver down my spine, the first time that...
I got a good deal on the Mission Impossible original TV series set on Blu-ray at Deep Discount. I'm not crazy about the packaging but the episodes look and sound great.
"The Clover Boys" is sort of a parody of the early 20th Century juvenile book series "The Rover Boys," written by Edward Stratemeyer under the pen name "Arthur M. Winfield." Stratemeyer also created The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Tom Swift, and many others. In 1942 Warner Brothers also spoofed The...
For those interested in taking a deep dive into the subject, there is a book published in 2000 called "The Moose that Roared: The Story of Jay Ward, Bill Scott, a Flying Squirrel, and a Talking Moose" by Keith Scott. The book includes program synopses and voice credits for all of the Jay Ward...
I had one a while back that made it to New Jersey, but then was delivered to the Post Office in the next town south of me. They apparently couldn't figure out what to do with it, so they sent it back to New Jersey, where it was held for a few more days before they finally sent it to my Post...
I watched the Blu-ray a few nights ago and I agree that ClassicFlix has done a terrific job with it. There was a bit too much slapstick during the last half of the film for my taste, but there were plenty of laugh out loud moments so I am a happy camper.
Thanks for the review. My copy arrived on Friday and I'm looking forward to watching it.
As an Irish aside, my paternal grandmother's maiden name was Sheeran.
Nice review. Richard Boone recognized her ability and she directed eight episodes of Have Gun - Will Travel. In fact, she directed episodes of several classic TV shows, including 77 Sunset Strip, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Untouchables, Thriller, The Fugitive, and The Twilight Zone. She even...
I've been watching Season One of PERRY MASON and have three episodes to go. Here is a photo of Perry questioning Judy Tyler (JAILHOUSE ROCK), who was killed in an auto accident before this episode aired.
The trickiest thing with LEDs, to me, was finding ones that are suitable for enclosed fixtures. I have three enclosed ceiling light fixtures that have LED bulbs. I also have LED floodlights for my driveway and back yard, and LED bulbs for my front porch. I was surprised to find that the LED...
I look at it as a prequel, which is plausible because in Raymond Burr's portrayal there is nothing about Mason's history before he became an attorney. I know a few attorneys who started out as PIs. We get a hint of Mason's legal acumen in the first episode.
As for classic TV, a few days ago I...
Kaempfert also recorded a song called "A Happy Feeling." WABC (New York) DJ Herb Oscar Anderson added lyrics to it that he sang on his show to Kaempfert's recording.
I've met Duane Eddy a couple of times. He's 82 now but still working from time to time. He played at the Musicares tribute to Paul McCartney a few years ago. I've also met Duane's two favorite sax players, Steve Douglas and Jim Horn. I never had a chance to see the Ventures, unfortunately. I did...
