I don’t recall ‘Mad World being 2.76 at the Warner NYC. I was amazed that the seams were gone from the 3 strip and my recollection is that the picture covered the wide screen at the Warner.
Doctor Zhivago was a huge hit. The show in Dec ‘65 that I attended was sold out and I assume many others were too.
The Hallelujah Trail was not a hit. The running time was longer than the blu ray which is ok by me but it would be nice to see what was deleted. I don’t recall the missing scenes…
I saw ‘Mad World’ at the Warner Cinerama and the theater was packed. Saw Hallelujah Trail at the Capitol and it was half empty . I certainly didn’t mind as I was really digging the great Elmer Bernstein score.
BTW I saw many films at the Capitol before and after the conversion to Cinerama...
