It's also quite a head of hair she's rocking there. :D
Kudos to you guys because I didn't see Billie Burke there at all. Every time we watch an older film (and Burke appears), my wife picks her out instantly because of her voice and the familiarity of Glinda's voice from The Wizard of Oz.
Peg and I watched A Man Called Ove again last night (in anticipation of eventually seeing the Hanks' version sometime--likely when it hits home video). We like Ove so much, we are curious what we'll think of Otto. We both think Hanks will do a great job with the role but its always curious to...
And that's how she got that sultry, husky voice...
And, apparently, she smoked SO much...she was even proficient at using her feet as a cigarette holder!
Robert: You made that post on June 3rd of this year. I can finally close this circle. :D
This was my brief reaction after seeing Minari back in October:
And then we FINALLY got around to watching Nomadland last night. As we were watching it and it was playing out...we were both surprised...
I should have known that. I probably overthought it trying to suss out whatever the heck the meaning of that tag line was. Really confounding to me.
EDIT: I should have consulted my hardcover, first-edition of The Elements of Style. Strunk & White always set me straight.
As in "Their's is the great adventure?"
Seems like odd shorthand.
Maybe "Their's: the great adventure?"
Don't you at least need an apostrophe...if not also a colon or dash?
Great to hear! I've got the Blu-ray sitting right by my gear with a growing pile of recent acquisitions (including Nomadland). But this is the one Peg and I are both most excited about.
That's quite a list, Robert.
If I was ever going to ask someone for a list of 100 Westerns, you'd have been the guy I asked.
Good luck with your mission! I think you'll succeed...easily. :D
It IS interesting. But mighty confusing to me.
They say this is for July. But the article was published today, July 22nd.
And it includes "catalog" programming, but not "original" programming.
And I guess this is not like Neilsen ratings, but it is some form of rating of the quality of...
Robert:
You have been on an absolute tear when it comes to watching movies!
I cannot believe the number of titles you've been posting about in recent days. Just unbelievable.
I'm kinda envious. Not really "kinda." Flat out envious.
I guess retired life is treating you well! :D
Done!
I scanned the available movies list. Selected one of my old favorites, The Secret Garden (1949), and got it started right up.
Thanks for the push.
