I'm wondering if maybe they're holding the home version for a big 50th anniversary edition for Jaws a couple years from now. It could be a special feature on that disc, as the 3D version of Jaws 3 was on that prior blu-ray release.
In the meantime, maybe it will be in theaters again this summer...

And I'm not sure how much reliable data they have since they haven't offered the option for many years now. I don't know how they know how well they'd sell or how many would buy one until they test the waters with an actual product.
It seems like a missed opportunity to me that some TV manufacturer wouldn't offer at least a couple 3D options in different sized screens.
We get cars, appliances, computers/phones, and many other consumer products in all different styles with all sorts of different available options, features...
I think we'll see a physical release with 3D at some point. To not do so would be completely counter to Cameron's obsession with 3D. That seems to be the primary way he wants his films to be seen, supported by recent re-releases of Titanic and the original Avatar nearly exclusively in 3D format.
