Will, I thought that might have been something like that too, except it did the same thing when using the 1/8" mini-jack on the soundcard as well. I'll play around with it some more, hopefully I can get this problem fixed, otherwise I have myself a useless usb soundcard. Andrew
Yeah, I have the knob cranked when it's hooked up to my receiver, and even still it's not all that loud. I'm not asking for crazy loud either, just decent levels.
I wasn't happy with the sound (volume) I was getting out of my laptop when hooking it up to my receiver through the headphone output (I had to crank the volume to get any output on my receiver) so I bought a Turtle Beach USB soundcard with optical out, I thought it might fix that problem. I...
My problem is that I wish to connect my laptop to my receiver to listen to mp3s, and I tried going from the headphone 2.5 mm jack to RCA cable to my receiver, and it worked of course, but it's just very quiet. I feel I'm pushing my receiver to try to get decent volume out of my computer. So...
I'm working on a spreadsheet for a work schedule and want to know if there's a way to calculate total number of hours for each employee per week when it's set up something like this: Monday Tuesday Wed Thurs Friday Pete: 9-2, 7-3, 7-3, OFF, 9-5, etc.. At first I used...
I can't for the life of me figure out how to place a line over a letter in wordperfect 12. I'm taking an electronics course and I'm trying to represent the compliment of a variable, and I want to overline it as opposed to the apostrphe in my lab reports, but I can't figure out how. Just...
Yeah, the programming book recommended by the prof has ben absolutely useless. Hardly any examples at all, just a lot of reading, which is what you don't need when you're looking for the format of things. I looked at it once and threw it to the corner of my room. Just another lesson learned - do...
I'm working with C. It's just a general first year course for engineers. I've made progress and generally know what I'm doing now. I think I'll get the rest of it working, I don't know if it'll be as efficient as it could be, but we don't get marked for efficiency, so it all works out. Really...
I'm really new to all this programming stuff, and I'm not understanding some of the terminology. What I want to do is similar to this example my teacher gave us that involving an array. #include #include #define SIZE 10 void fillArray(int a[]); int main() { int x, array[SIZE]; for...
If this is in the wrong forum I apologize, but I've seen other homework-related threads in here. My program has to do with sports stats. The user will enter a game's results in the format: team1,team2,score1,score2, E.g. blue,red,11,16, I need to write a function that reads this input...
I recognized Jonathan Torrens right away... he's had his own show on CBC, and he plays J-ROC in The Trailer Park Boys, which may not be all THAT popular, but I still felt it a bit risky of them to cast him.

Thanks for the advice. I understand that U of W would be the best choice for Engineering, but at the same time I'm hesitant about just waiting around when I have these early acceptances in my mailbox that will expire soon. I guess it's just a security thing. I think I'll probably end up...
My offers of acceptance have to be in by May 14th and I haven't decided yet. I have applied for Electrical Engineering and have received offers from Queen's University and the University of Ottawa. (I know Waterloo is the place to go for engineering from what I understand.. but they're still...
Thank you very much, Jean. I didn't even find out how many cavities I had when I went to the dentist until I went to the receptionist. I did have an idea by counting the number of times my dentist said "oooo" and "uhhhhh" though. Then he proceeded to speak french to his assistant. It's nice to...
That sounds a lot like what they used on me today. It was this drill-type spinny thing (best description I could come up with) and everytime she'd turn it off I'd hear a noise from the corner of the room almost like an air compressor. Whatever it was, I'd much rather have my wisdom teeth removed...
I had my teeth cleaned today and I must say that I would rather get my tooth drilled without freezing than experience that any time soon. It felt like someone put a nail on one of those spinning toothbrushes and shoved it into my gums. Plus my teeth are sensitive, so even spraying all that cold...
I purchased some Paradigm speakers about a year ago and really have no complaints about them. To my ears they sound great. At the same time, I really don't know very much about them as far as where they stand amongst the current Paradigm lineup. The only thing I really know about them is what's...
First a little background information: My receiver is a Panasonic SAHE70, and my main speakers are Paradigm Compact Monitors (6-ohms, bi-ampable). My receiver powers my speakers to acceptable levels, but I feel like I'm pushing it sometimes when playing movies/music moderately loud. I...
A while back I upgraded my Sony speakers to some Paradigm Monitors that I feel I got for a good price. My only complaint is that I have an entry level receiver, a Panasonic SAHE70, which I am mostly satisfied with. My concern is now that I have to turn the volume up louder on the receiver to...
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for a student who wishes to purchase a cell phone. Every option seems so expensive, especially for a student who just wants to be able to keep in touch and be reachable. (I always miss out on stuff because the phone is busy, or something...)...
I'm taking an Algebra and Geometry class through correspondance and I'm having some troubles with a couple questions... 52. If vector a and vector b are unit vectors and the angle (theta) between them is 120 degrees, calculate (5a-b)*(a+b) The second question is pretty much the same...
I have a Panasonic SAHE70 which is last year's model of the SAHE75 and I have no complaints whatsoever. If I understand correctly the 75 has component inputs which is an upgrade from the 70
