I disagree with CB, I have installed several 3.1 systems with great success and think you are on the right track to meet your needs. I don't think you are looking to try and get simulated rear surrounds but just a good solid front sound stage. I recommend the pioneer VSX 1019, this is a great...
I think your reciever's distance and speaker levels are way out of whack. I've setup some systems in very live rooms and have been able to calibrate around a lot of room problems. The problems you are describing sound like serious delay issues and a horrible LFE setup. You need to run the...
Go to radio shack and buy some solder on male RCA connectors, solder the black wire to the shield and the red to the pin and you now have rca ends.
Its that easy.
Perhaps the above poster is the exception or perhaps it is the local control4 installer but ALL the control4 systems I have encountered have been very unreliable. At CES I watched a demo at the Control4 booth and personally witnessed several failed button pushes (the demonstrater had to push...
I disagree, you can have excellent results in a shared space with all in ceiling speakers. There are several very solid in ceiling speakers and many can be aimed are designed to fire at the listening area. Is it best case scenario, no, but if you want best case scenario build a dedicated room...
Pioneer Elite all the way. Klipsch speakers are awesome. Use the 1000 series for your in ceiling speakers they also have outdoor speakers . . . HiFi Works makes great budget speakers and even have some THX select in walls for a great deal. TruAudio also makes some great speakers . . .
I really like the products by Active Thermal Management. Heat control is all about air replacement and circulation. Satellite and Cable boxes are the biggest producers of heat, you may want to get a product that targets them specifically. Oh, and those inexpensive laptop coolers, work great...
if you can do separated do that. Pioneer just released a very inexpensive line of 5.1 receivers, vsx518, 818, and 918 I believe. I'd do a 3.1 you'll love it, great sound. Don't count out surround sound in your room, find a competent installer in your area and hit him up for a consult...
You should have: Speakers A selected input: DVD signal select: Digital Monitor: off DSP: standard Listening mode: normal If you started messing with connections and it died on you then you probably have a bad connection from DVD player to reciever. Your DVD player should be...
I have installed this system with the Pioneer Elite VSX92 and it played very strong in a 900 sqft room. The speakers did have a fairly long break in period but they are stunning. I am a real believer in high end recievers, having installed systems with separate components and receivers.
And don't think you won't. I dumped my marantz for an elite and love it. Pioneer Elite recievers are just awesome and way less complicated than Denon (my second favorite).
There's just no two ways about it sound proofing is an expensive and arduous process. Changes in material density decelerate sound waves more effectively than material thickness. Richard is right about sealing cans, outlets and vents. Bass will travel though your foundation unless you decouple...
Yes. Get a pair of these and the ultra 2 amp. IMO they are the best production subwoofers on the market in their price range. Even though Robert contends that they may not have been the best possible work of the designer they are fantastic. I have installed several of these and have yet to...
really 50/50 on this one. If you get one hope it doesn't break if it does you'll be out of luck, most tier 3 tvs don't have replacement parts readily available.
I have in the last 18 months installed nearly 30 Hitachi plasma televisions ranging in size from 42"-55" the majority of them have been installed at an elevation of 6000' and not one of them has had any problems.
Very good driver. I will be building a dual 15" MKIII ported sub for a client here very soon, I'll document the project and let you know how it turns out. I have installed a few of the 15" kit and while it is a great sub I'd build my own box. I also prefer the speaker ported, tuned @32hz or below.
I personally love the way that klipsch speakers sound. The horn is not only very efficient but it also gives music that live concert sound. Obviously the higher you go up in the product line the better the speakers sound although they are all efficient. I sold my JBLs to a friend and got some...
Excellent subwoofer, I have installed a couple of them. The room correction seems to work well in some rooms and horrible in others. I personally think you should tune it the way you think it sounds best. Thats the great thing about these Klipsch subs is they can be adjusted then re adjusted so...
PS3, good price and loads blu rays substantially faster not to mention the DVD upconversion is excellent. After I got a PS3 I sold my Samsung blu ray player. The only other player I would even consider is the pioneer elite.
