These are apparently part of the deal between Indicator/Powerhouse and Permanencia Voluntaria. Here's the article that discusses this:

Not to be a stickler, but the Midsomer Murders issues are SERIES 16 and 17. SETS 16 and 17 were issued several years ago. It looks like they stopped releasing the SETS at Set 25 in favor of the SERIES volumes.
The SETS were the episodes released in (roughly) chronological order, usually...
This is a re-release of I Love Lucy (still by Paramount). Amazon lists the release date of seasons 5-9 as Nov 6, 2012. If Target has them this week, then it probably IS a Target exclusive. The release date of seasons 1-4 is Oct 9, 2012. The packaging has definitely changed. I don't know if...
Actually, I got a reply the next day:
"All MSRP prices are provided to us by the manufacturer and unfortunately we are not authorized to make any changes that they have not formally requested. We apologize for the inconvenience."
So unless we can get Sony to send them a correction, we're out...
We're also going to have to be careful about what dd uses for "List Price". For example, they list "Three Stooges Collection 7" as having a list price of $29.95. All other stores list it as $24.96. I just emailed them about this.
In the past, I've seen complaints about dd's prices rising...
I called my local Costco and they said they would be carrying the new Disney Treasures. Their price will be $21.99 each and they are getting only 36 copies of each. YMMV. I only want Donald and Syn, so I'll be going to Best Buy.
FWIW, the "Amazon Exclusive" book with the Abbott & Costello set is exclusive in that it's only available with this set. The book is also mentioned as being included in the dvdempire, best buy and circuit city listings for the set.
Between that set and the silent set, there's a lot of Our Gang coming. Forthcoming Laughsmith silent collection Laughsmith Entertainment - Motion Picture Preservation and Production
From The Right Stuf website: Right Stuf is also proud to announce that we are returning to our roots and releasing two of our very earliest and most requested VHS series on DVD: the complete 1965 US Kimba Series and the complete 1963 US Astro Boy Series! Both series are being restored...
Are you sure about that? Those are the titles Universal originally posted, but later they replaced "100 Men and a Girl" with "Something in the Wind". http://homevideo.universalstudios.co...?childId=34855
Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Captain Nice Cop Rock Darkwing Duck Double Life of Henry Phyfe (w/Red Buttons) Police Squad Rags to Riches Ralph Bakshi's New Adventures of Mighty Mouse Salvage (at least the pilot episode; preferably the entire series) Star Trek: The Animated Series...
Are these going to be in keepcases or jewel boxes? Several years ago Image released the Twilight Zone 40th Anniversary set in jewel boxes instead of the original keepcases. I wouldn't put it past them to do the same here.
Set 1 was never released on DVD, only VHS. Many sites listed Set 2 as Set 1 because it was the first set released. Acorn has been trying to keep the DVD numbering consistent with the VHS numbering.

My requests: 1) A "Play All" option 2) When playing individual episodes, after the episode is done take us back to the main menu with the NEXT episode highlighted. (alternative - start playing the next episode as soon as the "current" one completes.) The Play All option would also help...
I wish more of the TV releases would include a "Play All" option in the main menu. It's especially annoying when you're forced to go through multiple menus to play each episode (like Captain Scarlet & UFO S1).
I picked up all 4 of the Disney Treasures discs & have 3 of the 4 Vault Disney discs on order (haven't arrived yet). Keep them coming!
I'd especially love to see "Dr Syn: Alias the Scarecrow" released as the original episodes as they did with Davy Crockett.
