Wikipedia has Robert Ozell Moseley as Guy Madison's real name. William F. Broidy was an entire different person! Broidy died in 1959, Madison died in 1996!
Wild Bill Hickok was with William F. Broidy, then sold to Columbia/Screen Gems in 1958, so that would be with Sony. Ramar Of the Jungle was a TPA/ITC property.
Straightaway a.k.a. The Racers, in it's only season on ABC in 1961-62, srarring Brian Kelly and John Ashley, could be a possibility, because it was a Racer Production, do you think it's possible, David?
It was produced by Bernard Prockter for Proctor Television Enterprises, distributed by MCA-TV. I'd say it's in the public domain and not with Universal.
I purchased World of Giants last month on Blu-ray and it is a real blast to watch a six-inch espionage agent. Why even Marshall Thompson as Mel Hunter can even break down that fourth wall to close each episode!
Any chance for an hour longTV Western series, of course 50 minutes sans commercials. Temple Houston yielded 26 episodes from WB, but it would be too costly for licensing like that, so some other 26 episode series, presumably in PD would be the likely candidate!
Then the TV Series moved to Hollywood for it's last two seasons, produced by Roland Reed Productions at Hal Roach Studios. McDaniel fell ill, and was replaced by Louise Beavers.
Lyle Better and Paul Birch starred in that series as attorneys who helped out the wrongly accused. Walden-Paisano produced the 26 episode series for NBC in 1957-58, rerun on ABC in 1960.
Could David look into maybe acquiring Philip Marlowe, starring Phillip Carey which was on ABC in 1959-60 for 26 episodes. Gene Wang produced it for Goodson-Todman and CNP.
How about those vintage Ford commercials in 21 Beacon Street, Robert Horton of Wagon Train and Tennessee Ernie Ford, bless their pea picking hearts. Even the promo for Wagon Train appears after the show is over!
May I suggest to David, "Don't Call Me Charlie", which yielded 26 episodes, but only 18 aired on NBC in 1962-63. Josh Peine, John Hubbard, Linda Lawson, and Alan Napier starred in the series about a veterinarian from Iowa entering the army.
Any possibility for Wichita Town starring Joel McCrea and his son Jody McCrea? Walter Mirisch passed away this past February and maybe his estate might be willing to grant the licensing rights to that series.
I see that a most ambitious anthology series was produced by Roach, "Screen Directors Playhouse" aired for one season of 1955-56 on NBC. Might be a candidate for future DVD release. Some big name actors appeared in that series and there were some well known directors. John Wayne in Rookie of The...
Hey David, about the upcoming release of 21 Beacon Street the complete series, is there an animated closing logo for Filmways? You know the stretched out oval shaped globe where A Filmways would come up and a television presentation would be underneath. Many shows from the studio had it.
Question, David, are there any other Public Defender episodes with original Phillip Morris cigarettes commercials in the complete series collection? Have seen such spots in the "Deep Ditch" episode, plus a Parliament cigarette ad. Could go ahead and check the menus of discs 4&5 of season two.
I found a Hal Roach series that could be a part of the rare television line of DVD releases in the future. Passport To Danger starring Cesar Romero would be a worthy choice, a single-season series for syndication of 39 episodes. That's something you could shoot for, David.
