Well, I'm not getting any younger. :) Matt Ryan did say that "It was a perfect call" after the play failed, but it sounds like he agreed that running the ball would have been better prior to the snap. I think I got his statement confused with what Peyton was saying.
There was a lot of...
If I recall correctly, Peyton Manning liked the pass call to Barkley. Of course being a QB, he probably would. :) I don't think it was necessarily a bad call, as Barkley would have made that catch 9 out of 10 times or more; but running the ball would have been better given the game...
I watched 1923 first, due to Harrison Ford's participation and then viewed 1883. Sam Elliot was terrific in that series and I also enjoyed the various cameos featured throughout 1883.
And yes, I am looking forward to the second (and I believe final) season of 1923.

I had the same reaction when I viewed Part 1. 1883 was a very entertaining series that did a fine job of depicting the arduous journey west. Obviously it had a much longer period of time to tell its story, but it delved into a lot of similar territory.

Typical Cowboys. The only thing consistent about their performances is inconsistency. One week they make you a believer and then the next week they take it all away.

Episode 75 - July 5th, 1974 - Hosted by Anne Murray with performances by Golden Earring, Eddie Kendricks, Country Joe McDonald, Rufus, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and The Wet Willie Band...
Probably one of the more musically diverse Midnight Special episodes with just a large variety of genres...
Will this be bad? Very likely, but Roland Emmerich does have something of a penchant for large scale productions and some of his better works have been based in desert settings. So I'll try to keep an open mind and hope that...
A) It is better than expected and
B) It exposes younger viewers...
Considering Tua's history he absolutely, positively should never finish a run head first. I believe he seriously needs to evaluate the current state of his health and start thinking about a post football life and his ability to enjoy it.
I'll be pulling for the Houston Texans in the AFC, but...
Watched the first half of the Bill & Dolphins and then decided to do something else. It looks like the Bills had a much better game plan and managed to negate the speed of the Dolphins' wide receivers. Achane had a good game for the Dolphins (at least in the 1st half). Looking at the game...
Winchester '73 will be presented on Turner Classic Movies Saturday evening. (While not a substitute for ownership, if you have TCM this would give you chance to experience this fine Western.)

The irony for the Browns is that the guy they got rid of is balling in Tampa Bay. The whole Watson situation feels like karmic retribution for their pursuit of winning which included pursuing someone who had a LOT of baggage. Living in the Houston area, the local media covered the Watson...
Rodgers showed flashes of the sort of play we saw in the past, particularly the TD on the 'free play'. But it wasn't enough against a Niners' offense that imposed their will for a good portion of the game. The Jet's defense did hold them to field goals on multiple drives but it felt like the...
It is that time of the year; another tropical disturbance intensifying in the Gulf of Mexico. The forecast tracks seem to indicate that it will skirt up the Texas coastline, but reasonably far from the coast, and make landfall in Louisiana. We'll see.

While not true of all horror films, The Strangers at times epitomizes the adage that horror films wouldn't exist without bad decisions. The film is well made in terms of its editing and cinematography, and I thought that Speedman and Tyler provided effective performances. But, the film is...
I still remember seeing the NFL Network's A Football Life episode that focused on Belichek and his persona away from where we traditionally saw him was like night and day. Pretty eye opening.
- Waltter.
The 'boys put a lot of pressure on Watson today. At one point in the 3rd quarter they flashed a stat that 50% of Cleveland's offensive plays had either gained 0 yards or lost yardage. Not any way to run your offense. Once the Browns fell behind, Dallas was able to unleash the pass rush.
I...
Pretty happy with the Texans' offense in their win over the Colts. Joe Mixon was a beast running for 159 yards on 30 carries. Stefon Diggs had two receiving touchdowns today. C.J. Stroud played well even if his total yards stat wasn't that impressive. The Texans need to work on that pass...
I'll be watching...
Houston @ Indianapolis - I don't know how the Colts fared in the off season, but I believe the Texans bolstered their lineup. Curious to see if C.J. Stroud picks up where he left off after a terrific past season.
Dallas @ Cleveland - This could be a pretty tough game for...
Streamed Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 earlier this evening. This was my first viewing and I found it fairly enjoyable. For me the biggest strengths of the feature were the presentation of the landscapes and the majority of the performances. I did like the extremely large cast and it...
After two games, it is pretty safe to say that Offense is leading Defense. Of course as was noted, it feels like this is what the League prioritizes. I didn't watch all of the Packers & Eagles contest, but both teams had their share of big plays. I was tired and didn't complete the game, so...
Pretty entertaining first game of the season this evening. Tough way for the Ravens to lose the game, but clearly Lively was out of bounds. Despite being out of bounds on that crucial play, Lively had a heck of a game for the Ravens this evening.
I thought the refs were way too stringent on...
