Interesting that you blame Samsung. I put this kind of stuff square on the shoulders of Fox and their stubborn copy protection schemes. I haven't had any issues with any other studio's discs on my BD-P1000.

I've taken to blasting my discs with canned air to clear off any kind of dirt or debris before putting them in my player - even new discs. I've noticed that these kinds of stutters are related to particles of dirt than a flaw in the player (at least since the the firmware upgrade).

It's a great movie. And it's hard to not appreciate the amount of work that Lynch put into restoring and packaging the flick (which is part of the steep price tag... not to mention doing all of the distribution himself).

Aside from revealing Laura Palmer's killer, the prequel makes several references to the series that you would be completely oblivous to without having watched. I showed the prequel to my wife, who had never watched the show, and she was completely lost.

Very excited for this. I hope they clean up the audio (or add optional subtitles); the last time I saw this on Turner Classics, it was barely audible.
