Take a look at the Mits 65413 (2004 model) it has some major improvements over the 65411. New line doubler, independent color control, & DVI to name a few. In fact, many stores don't have the 65411 to sell any more anyway...
There is a test pattern on Avia, I think it's called overscan, that will help you identify if this is indeed the case, and how much, and where the overscan is occuring... Also, if you become a paid member to another forum, the home theater spot, there is a weatlh of Mistubishi tweak info that...
I thought I read somewhere that the series was no longer in syndication (at least the earlier seasons) and TV stations now had to buy each episode they wished to broadcast. This also gives them the freedom to choose which episode to play, instead of playing the national syndication feed... --Paul
FYI on the taxes... You have to pay both the GST and Ontario RST (Retail Sales Tax) at the store... You get GST back at the duty free shop on the way out, and the dealer should have a form to get Ontario RST refunded by mail... So be prepared to pay the tax up front, and get the refunds in...
I live in the Detroit area & purchased Paradigm's in Windsor... There is definately money to be saved, even, in most cases, if the dealer won't budge off MSRP... Check out the dealer locator on Paradigm's web site. I believe there is a dealer in St. Catherines, give 'em a call and see what...
Just about every disc that Bela Fleck is involved with is recorded with 20-bit equipment, and I have been very pleased with the sound quality of the CD's... Some good instrumental Bluegrass/Newgrass CD's: Bela Fleck - Tales from an Acoustic Planet Chris Thile - Not All Who Wander Are Lost...
The Studio/60's run around $1200/pair in laminate finish... Add ~$400 for the veneer... The 40's with the premire stands are within about $100 of the 60's, hence many people end up with the 60's over the 40's... Those prices are relatively accurate in both US & CDN dollars... Obviously some...
I'm no expert, but I've never heard of anything being damaged because of no load... too much load is a different story, but no load?. I took several electronics classes in college, and don't recall any amp designs that required a load to prevent damage... For a more real-world example: I've...
I picked up Paradigm Studio/60's, Studio/CC, and a PW-2200 for about $1700. The dealer was willing to sell me Studio/20's for the rear for about $350 more... All $'s are US $'s... That would fall within the budget ballpark, and be an awesome (IMO) HT & music setup. It might require a drive...
I demoed the 603's against the Paradigm Studio/60's... The Studio's are a better speaker than the Monitor's, and were closer in price to the B&W's. I ended up with the Paradigm's. They sounded better to me with the music I listen to... If you are trying to decide between B&W & Paradigm...
You are definately buying a pair of 100's & either a 40 or a CC, your dealer won't hate you... He'd probabaly do back flips if you wanted him to... That sale should be more that worth the effort to re-arrange a few speakers :) Have Fun... --Paul
My thought was (and is) HD is getting cheaper every year (or at least has high potential to), Speaker technology is much more stable, and therefore so are the prices... Buy the speakers now, buy the HD next year when it's better and cheaper... --Paul
I recently bought 60's and a PW-2200 for about $2000 CDN after demo'ing the 40's, 60's, and 80's. I've been extremely happy with the combo for both music and movies (although I turn down the sub a bit for music). No buyer's remorse here. If you were seriously considering paying for the 100's...
Keep in mind the Canada deal is best on Canadian made speakers (Paradigm, Mirage, Energy, etc...) beacuse there is no import duty upon returning to the US... Some deals can be had on B&W and other brands, and you still get the GST/PST tax back, but they are subject to import duties...
I was quoted ~$500 canadian for 20's... I bought 60's for $1200 CDN or ~$800 US (plus you get all your taxes back)... my closest US dealer wanted $1200 US for the 60's... Moral of the story... Make a road trip to Canada. You can beat just about any US price... Paradigm has a dealer in St...
I live in the Detroit area, so Canada was only about a hour's drive... I purchased Studio/60's, a Studio/CC, and a PW-2200. Saved over $900 US on the package, vs. what I was quoted by a dealer on the US side. The guy in Canada says that he regularly gets customers from as far away as Colorado...
