Was the old 27" iMac actually portable? I can't imagine all that much so... but I suppose it might be barely considered that way by a (extremely) rare few, especially given perceived (by me) Apple fanboy prefs, LOL... ;):P

Couldn't you just put that music library (or any other media library) on a separate SSD or something and just connect via USB (or even Thunderbolt if you really want)?
That's probably what I'd do -- and then, migrating, portability or whatever will be easy-peasy...

Too bad I don't really need another upgrade at all (from my DIY AMD-based Windoze PC build)... or I'd definitely seriously consider finally converting to a Mac Studio (and probably just occasionally run ARM-based Windoze for a few legacy things) after staying away from Macs since my college days...
