Here's the rest of my list that I just didn't have time to write a synopsis for. I'll add my thoughts on them as soon as possible.
43. The Mummy's Ghost
44. The Climax
45. Dead Man's Eyes
46. House Of Frankenstein
47. The Mummy's Curse
48. The Frozen Ghost
49. Jungle Captive
50. Strange...
I didn't really like Shaun Of The Dead when I first saw it but I watched it again after really enjoying Hot Fuzz and LOVING Scott Pilgrim and with that second viewing, I enjoyed it much more. Still my least favorite of Wright's movies though.
Catching up yet again...
43. The Mummy's Ghost
The mummy returns to kill people. I'm a big fan of the Chaney/Mummy sequels. They're not particularly good but they're fun B-movies.
44. The Climax
Boris Karloff is a crazy doctor who tries to murder a young woman. The powdered wigs, opera and...
38. The Mad Ghoul
Mad scientist George Zucco uses an ancient gas on his student and he becomes a mad ghoul. Great title, not a great movie.
39. Calling Dr. Death
Lon Chaney plays a doctor who is suspected of murdering his wife. The first of the Inner Sanctum mystery movies is enjoyable and...
36. Flesh And Fantasy
A three part anthology that is just OK. That being said, I'm very glad that Vinegar Syndrome put out an obscure Universal horror movie like this.
37. Son Of Dracula
Dracula's son is in America and he's up to no good. Lon Chaney is not a great Dracula but I still enjoy...
33. Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man
The Wolf Man returns to life and finds the Monster. Some of these "monster rally" movies get a little wacky but this one is pretty good.
34. Captive Wild Woman
A mad scientist turns a female gorilla into a human. This is a cheap movie and it must have been...
24. Horror Island
A group of people go to an island mansion where The Phantom is up to no good. It's a B-movie from top to bottom but I think this one is a ton of fun and fast paced.
I'm guessing it was due in large part to The Most Dangerous Game but it seems like the creepy mansion on a...
Catching up in more pieces...
19. The Invisible Man Returns
Vincent Price plays the Invisible Man who is trying to clear his name of a murder that he didn't commit. Good sequel with a solid performance from Price especially the scenes where he's getting crazier and more dangerous from the...
A few more from earlier this week...
14. The Invisible Ray
Karloff becomes irradiated and can kill that new power. A bit more sci-fi than horror and it's a bit more forgettable than most of the other Karloff/Lugosi movies.
15. Dracula's Daughter
The daughter of Count Dracula looks to rid...
Catching up with my list...
7. Secret Of The Blue Room
A group of people spend the night in a 'cursed' room in a mansion. This one is more like a mystery/whodunit but it's OK.
8. The Invisible Man (1933)
Claude Rains is a scientist who creates an invisibility potion which has the...
4. Murders In The Rue Morgue (1932)
Dr. Mirakle is using prostitutes as test subjects for a crazy experiment where he mixes their blood with an ape. The first (or at least an early) in a number of mad scientist roles that Lugosi would play and he is fantastic. He's so good that it's a bummer...
Kicking it off with my annual rewatch of Universal horror movies. No need for a synopsis for these movies.
1. Dracula (1931)
The movie is OK but Bela Lugosi made it iconic as arguably the most famous villain in movie history. How many movies are remembered 92(!) years after their release?
2...
I must be the biggest offender for this but my meager defense is that I watch ALOT of movies during this thing so finding time to type up even a couple of sentences is tough.
Needless to say, I'm in for this year.
