Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Jeff I agree that usually Dark Horizons is a good source for upcoming news. However in this case, it and other publications have clearly shown poor judgement by not checking the facts. Ms. Stones recent (which I never disputed) comments, aren't really the problem. She may have misspoken or...

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Well it sounds to me like Dee Wallace Stone is confused. She probably hasn't seen E.T in years and doesn't even realize that that line was already removed thirteen years ago. Perhaps Spielberg wants to ADD some lines (re-looping). Add to that poor reporting by these websites and newspapers...

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

My posts in this thread were in response to the title of this thread, which is incorrect. It was misleading due to the lazy reporting of Dark Horizons. ------------------ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus.

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Carl If it's NOT because of recent events, why do YOU think this thread was started? ------------------ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus.

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Mark I agree. I thought my above post would end this discussion so let me repeat it for the people in the cheap seats. :) THIS EDIT WAS DONE THIRTEEN YEARS AGO!! If you would like to blame Spielberg for removing it in the first place, fine, but it is NOT because of recent events. Sheesh...

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

In the original video release of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on VHS in 1988, the scene in question plays as follows at the 101:50 mark on the tape. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Elliot is putting on makeup for Halloween going over the plan with Gertie when offscreen this dialog takes place. Mother: "Listen...

Spielberg apparently wants to eliminate word "terrorist" from ET

Dan is correct. Spielberg did edit out the word "terrorist" from ET. However, this was done before it was released on home video more than 10 years ago, and NOT due to the recent tragedys. I noticed this immediately when I watched the VHS version so many years ago for the first time...
