But Amanda wasn't initially played as a sourpuss. She was a very sweet young woman. I enjoyed and appreciated that Karen gave us that quality back in her portrayal of Amanda.

At least Karen made the part charming and likeable again - Oxenberg's Amanda really grated on me towards the end.

They had NO IDEA whatsover to do with Amanda once she divorced the prince. I think the better option would have been to kill Amanda off in the La Mirage fire. Karen Cellini did a lovely job with the character, she just needed more time to find her feet and perhaps some good scripts to act.

The UK sets for Seasons 6-9 certainly weren't, with some awful "colour pulsing".

I hope that the box art doesn't change much from this - it looks fabulous. And last week I was within a heartbeat of buying all the split-season sets from Seasons 6-9 (because the UK sets that I have are from lower quality sources)... now I will wait and get the entire box.

If they did, I'd be happy to see a Complete box set. The transfers for seasons 6-9 on the UK sets came from analogue sources and don't look pretty at all.

And I doubt whether that idea would have floated with Frankie and Jason - but of course that's all revealed later. ;)

That I think was the main reason why Pamela Sue wanted out of the show. They turned Fallon into a boring, conventional working mother. It was too much of a change from her regular character.

I never found that idea crazy, especially since, for most of the series, Jeff was more loyal and son-like than Adam ever was.

I loved the glittery slipcases for the UK ones too - but they must have been costly to do because I only ever got them for Seasons 4, 5 and 6.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a complete "Dynasty" set coming out sooner than later, especially with the reboot. There's still money to make.

I think we can all rest easy with the knowledge that Paramount's reissue of Season 1 will be on regular discs. The UK edition - released by Paramount in 2009 - was on 4 single sided discs with the contents as follows: Disc 1 - Oil (Pilot) (Parts 1, 2 and 3) Disc 2 - The Honeymoon, The Dinner...

Flipper discs are dead and buried.

I think the recaps are intact in Season 9 of "Dynasty"... well, the UK release, anyway.

Presumably CBS has it, but when you consider that Shout Factory licensed "The Colbys", then anything is possible.

Emma Samms really comes into her own as Fallon in Seasons 8 and 9.

I loved how the writers were utilising the oft-discussed but never really explored Carrington 'mythology' of the Roger Grimes scandal, weaving him into the plot as, quite literally, a ghost from the past. It was a fabulous final year.

The sad thing is that the writers were starting to get that balance back in Season 9 - then the show was canned. Had it continued for at least one more year, I'm positive that the series would have recovered.

Nick, remember Caress DID escape from jail again after Ben had her sent back. She returned for a few more episodes during Season 7 before leaving altogether.

The character of Fallon started heading backwards in Season 4. Suddenly she grew too tamed. It's almost as though the writers were afraid to keep her the same after LB was born, so she transformed into a workaholic mother. It would have been far more interesting, indeed provocative, to keep...

I enjoy Emma Samms as Fallon too - it's more the writers who failed the character of Fallon with some terrible storylines when Fallon first 'returned'. Emma is fabulous once she hits her stride in Seasons 8-9, when Fallon gets back to her bitchy best self.

Y'know who'd have been the perfect Fallon re-cast, back in the day? Tracy Scoggins. Sure, she worked out perfectly as Monica on "The Colbys", but she also had the same air about her that PSM had.

She started out with real potential, was a breath of fresh air, but quickly grew tiring with a one-note personality.

I suppose the writers reasoned that with Krystle back, audiences would no longer need Sable there as well... but let's face it, Sable was the best thing that happened to "Dynasty" since the introduction of Alexis back in Season 2.
