No sound on Marantz NR1710 when turned on for the first time.
If you don't plan on using ARC (ie broadcast TV or apps built into TV) try using the other HDMI output. Or you could try to turn off ARC. This may do nothing bit it's the fastest experiment. No sound on Marantz NR1710 when turned on for the first time.
Sounds like an HDMI issue? Do you have everything plugged into the reviever? Or are you using ARC from the TV? Are you passing HDMI through the apple TV or cable box? Lastly rather than power cycle the 1710, try changing the audio modes or the inputs. It seems like you 1710 is trying to do...- SmCaudata
