Looks like it can be click-and-play as easy as normal Audyssey, maybe more so with the ability to label measurements and re-take them. And then there’s a bunch of extra controls you can add on incrementally as desired. Maybe the app does a bunch of that already. But given the choice between...
I guess? Given the rebranding with the Cinema line and the AV line, it's hard to see the 770x and 880x as anything than "old". They don't support Dirac. And there's no advertising anywhere about if/how they work with the MultEQ-X system.
I thought Marantz intended to expand the AV line to be...
I keep hoping Marantz will release an AV20 priced and featured to compete / compare with the Anthem AVM70.
I’m not going to spend $7000+ on a new pre-pro. But I think I can go for a $4000 processor. But right now that’s only Anthem. I wish Marantz had something in that range too.
@John Dirk Do you have a thread on your AV10? It just registered that I posted the video and kicked off this conversation in your old Anthem thread, even though I had in mind you switched to the Marantz AV10.
We need you buy the Audyssey expansion and figure it out and report back if it is not "barely perceptible sonic improvements" but in fact rather substantial as the video guys suggest. You have to do this. For Science. For HTF. :D
Jump to about 31:30. They recommend buying MultiEQ-X if you’ve got an AV10, and not use Audyssey mobile app if you’re taking the time to run room correction on a $7000 processor. There are some passing comments too on tweaking Audyssey to get best results from it.
(Also some great discussion...
It’s a user-made script to automatically do a bunch of Audyssey stuff to optimize applying your measured corrections. Jump to about 2:30 into the video, and read the “About” section for the video for info. (It requires a newer Marantz supporting the Audyssey app. So I can’t try it on my older...
Can the two uploaded presets be two completely different calibration runs? Like, one run for a front row and the second run against a back row? Or one run for prime seat and the other run for a row of seating?
It’s more that I can’t see in 2023 buying into a new high-end AVR or Pro-Pro at the $2000+ level (even getting a 60% refurb discount) and still being limited to Audyssey.
I also wish home theater tech pricing hadn’t skyrocketed the past three years. I’m not philosophically opposed to a Dirac update that’s a separate purchase. I think that’s a reasonable approach to manage costs overall and give buyers reasonable choices.
But at the new price points…
Well, when...
Ah, right, here it is, the AV10. I was seeing it next to the AMP10 in the separates and mis-reading it as a new Amp. I knew this was out, but then was not seeing it in front of me on the website. :)

So I’m waiting / hoping for something...
Nothing cryptic intended. Isn’t the Cinema line, that you bought, the new Marantz receiver series, capable of the Dirac update? But on the separates side, they still only have the AV7706 successor to the 77xx line. No new updates to mirror the Cinema receiver series. I thought there was going to...
I feel about my 7702 like I do my current car: please don’t break please don’t die. :D I want to upgrade … but not quite yet, so please last another year or three without problems so I can get a few more options closer to my needs and budget.
@John Dirk I think I missed an interim updates You returned the Anthem and replaced it with the Marantz? (Maybe I knew that but forgot. It’s been a busy summer :) )
