So NOT surprised.
Wait, do they mean that consumer products and professional medical devices are different in some significant way? Who could have known?
I mean, except for anyone with an ounce of functioning grey matter.
I don't want to get into an argument, but those units cannot superimpose the OSD over a live image with a DV signal. It can with all others, including HDR10. DV capability was added with a firmware update after they were introduced, so nothing in the manual actually applies to DV.
With them...
Yea, Dolby Vision. It occurred to me you probably don't use that in your HT. My other units (SR7012, AV7703) can't superimpose the OSD over an image. I'm guessing that's no longer the case with current ones, but the Cinema 60 I have is in the bedroom, which isn't a 4K setup, so I can't tell...
I believe you typed that wrong. According to the specs, it works with preamps from the AV7703 and later. Receivers are the SRxx11 series and later. So, I actually have three units it would work with. AV7703, SR7012 and Cinema 60.
I expect there will be new generation pre/pros before long. Those are usually the last to be updated, and far less frequently. Marantz has updated everything else in their line, so I would expect a couple processors soon. The AV10 is above any model they've had before, so they could have two...
Have you run any sweeps to double check the bass extension goes into the infrasonic? A lot of units these days, including the Anthems, don't state response below 20Hz, but I noticed the AV10 does.
Well, you know I'm quite likely to go with an AV10 as well, after going through a similar thought process. I want to see what your feedback on it is. I'm hoping to have a surround preamp with the audio quality that will allow me to eliminate my "hybrid" music/surround system, and just have a...
Having to pay $200 for PEQ capability always annoyed me. At least, as I recall, that's basically what it was. Honestly, the price for full-blown Dirac (yet to come) is also extremely annoying. Isn't it supposed to be around $500? On a $7K preamp? C'mon!
Great!
I will probably be joining you before too long. The major thing about Marantz (and Denon) products is the same I say about Apple products. They just work.
