I just bought a Pioneer DVR-520 recorder. I plan to hook it up to my Dish 811 box via S-video. The outputs from the Pioneer to my rec. will be component and Toslink for the audio. I also can hook it up to basic cable, which will allow me to use the Pioneer's VCR+. I'm confused about one...

I'm trying to hook up a Mita S-VHS vcr and a Dish set top box to my Integra 9.1 receiver. The Dish box only has 1 S-video output, as well as composite video output. Should I just hook up the Dish's composite video out to the Mits VCR's input, and the Dish's S-output to my Integra? Is it...
I ordered a fairly large number of cables from Blue jeans cables for my new front projector setup. After receiving them ( only a 3 day turn around from Washington state to NY), I decided to run only 1 set of component cables to my projector, instead of the 2 I had planned to. This involved...
Integra has a new 6 disc progressive scan DVD/CD player, the DPC-7.4, with true random play modes, and controls for contrast, color, brightness, tint, sharpness, and skin tones (!)It can play back MP3/CD/CD/VCD/CD-R/RW/DVD-R/RW/WMA CD/JPEG CD. Looks like you can have up to six custom settings...
I am selling a 3 meter run of Bettercables component video cable, and a 3 meter run of Bettercables S-video cable. Prices are $50 for the component cable, and $35 for the S-video cable. Prices do not include shipping. Both are in like-new condition. NOTE: These are the older style...
Thanks for the reponses. I know the Runco carries a premium price, but I can get it at dealer cost through a relative. As far as I know, it does not have an economy mode.
Need some advice & info on first projector purchase: The projector I'm considering buying (Runco CL-510) has a relatively short rated lamp life - 1000 hours. Most of the other projectors I see are rated anywhere from 2000-3000 hours. Would this alone turn most of you off on this projector? Do...
I have an Integra 9.1U2 receiver with THX Ultra2. I'm confused about the issue of DD 6.1 soundtracks. I normally watch all movies that are 5.1 in "THX ULTRA 2". But for a 6.1 mix, do I need to manually switch to "THX SURROUND EX", or will it decode properly in ULTRA 2? I know not many DVD's are...
I have owned a Tascam CD-RW700 for about 2 years. It's a terrific component, and you don't have to use consumer discs - any cdr will do - and you can make digital copies.
I just bought an Integra 9.1U2 (same as the Onkyo 989), and am REALLY impressed with it. It's powerful, flexible, and upgradeable. It's easy to set up and sounds fantastic. From what I understand, the fan noise issue was resolved about 1 1/2 years ago. It's a great piece of gear.
I have had my 20-39 PC+ up and running for about 2 weeks. Performance is everything I thought it would be and then some, but I wonder if I have the levels set OK. I used a "Y" connector to the sub's amp, and after calibrating with the internal tones of my Integra 9.1U2 rec. and the Radio...
I have five 3 foot lengths of Canare Star Quad L-4E6S XLR cables, with gold Neutrik connectors. The cables are brand new, in an unopened bag. They were made by cscables.com $80 including shipping to lower 48.
When you guys talk about calibrating with Avia or video essentials, can this be done on a 7.1 system, or are the discs only good for 5.1? If you have 7.1, are your only recourse is to use your receivers internal test noise? Thanks, Patrick
Just got the 20-39 PC+, and I have a calibration question: My receiver is 7.1, so should I calibrate with Video essentials, Avia, or use the receiver's internal test tones? Is V.E. or Avia set up for a 7.1 system?
I have read the early Onkyo 989's and Integra 9.1's had some fan noise, and the units were modified to make the noise less intrusive. I'd like to know from owners of the newer units - when the fan operates, just how intrusive is it? How long does it stay on for usually? If the top is kept well...
A little off topic but....can any of you AVM-20 owners put up a picture of the AVM-20 in black? It's kind of tough to find a high-quality picture of it in the black color. Thanks, Patrick
I'm interested in both the Anthem AVM-20 and the Bryston SP 1.7. One thing I know for sure is that the people at Bryston seem to know what is going on with their products MUCH more so than the people at Sonic Frontiers. I have called Sonic Frontiers 3 times, and asked the same question: when can...
I tend to believe high freq. video signals near the audio do affect it, although I have no proof of it. I think besides this there were other reeasons Bryston choose not to include video switching - as you say, they have a seperate video switcher. Also, many people prefer to run their video...
