Yes. A "Most Wanted" edition with corrected music discs I got as replacement for the bad music version discs in the newer, compact, "Complete" series set which I still have. I really like having the "Most Wanted" set with corrected discs but would have been just as happy to have simply...
^That looks like my first Fugitive set. I picked it up early, before they fixed the music issues, and got it replaced with a "Most Wanted" edition via a recall/replacement program:
For some reason they were replacing the entire set rather than just the incorrect discs and didn't want the...
^That's just horrible packaging! I couldn't stand it so I opened my copy of The Untouchables. They must have used 2 different packaging styles. Mine is in 2 cases: 1 Megapak containing S1-3 with overlapping discs on pages and a wide, standard, keepcase for S4 with non-overlapping discs on pages:
Oh... wow! I have an unopened copy of The Untouchables! I'm now dreading opening it!
Am I seeing that right? It looks like the discs alternate all the way down!
If it's stacks of discs on a single spindle or stacks of discs on a single spindle that overlap other stacks of discs on a single spindle, no. I do not. I have a few of those Sony all-in-one sets that are compartments of stacked discs. They're horrible and a royal pain to deal with if you're...
To each his own. I rather like those Megapak cases, although I'm not that fond of the ones which do overlapping discs on a page but that affects "standard" cases too.
If you're going to binge a series these cases make it quite easy with several seasons in the case. I tend to watch a season...
I took a chance and purchased a copy of the new SS version of Kung Fu. An Amazon review said the episodes are FS. I could find no further confirmation or even a contradictory statement anywhere so when deepdiscount had it for ~$9.50 I took a chance. I can safely say that it's *not* FS but the...
Thanks for the update! I never purchased S1 due to all the reported issues. I have enough other product I've fought to watch or actually get watchable copies that I got to where I refused to purchase Universal product if it was on flippies. This will be a first time purchase for me - and...
That's good news! While the "fake widescreen" isn't quite as bad as I'd anticipated, it's not OAR, which is what I prefer. I'll definitely be looking at this upgrade. :)
None that I know of on the BD release. I'd expect the same for the DVD. As far as I can tell everything is intact with all the music sounding like it should.
Try holding down <CTRL> when you click on the link. That *should* take you to the US site rather than defaulting to the CA site - at least that works at another site where people post links to Amazon UK and without using <CTRL> you get your "local" version.
You can also search for it on...
There *is* a US release of this set (Amazon US link)... but, like jr, I'd guess it's nothing more than a repackaging of the previous set. If you find out different, let us know (OK... I *know* you will as this is something of a "holy grail" for you! :) ). I, too, would like to have a fixed...
According to Michael's Movie Mahem, V1 & V3 *are* OOP with V2 & V4 still in print. So there's hope... but all of those need to go OOP.
While I've had odd issues with almost every distributor of DS discs, those DVD18s from Uni have been the most problematic. Fox, at least for me, comes in...
I saw this afternoon on tvshowsondvd.com that Universal is *finally* re-releasing S6 of Xena: Warrior Princess with a May 17th, 2016 release date! :)
It's available for pre-order at Amazon, along with the "Complete Series." Current price for S6 is $22.98 and the Complete series is $129.98.
Amazon had this at a too-good-to-let-pass price ($59.99) a short while back so I ordered a copy as I don't have S1 or either of the 2 movie sets. That makes the whole series only a few $$ more than those purchased separately *if* S1 was available in SS discs, which it's not at the moment. It's...
You would think so... but Universal re-released The Rockford Files in a SS complete series set May 26, 2015 and have yet to re-release S1 as SS discs. That's the only one I'm waiting for so I can finally complete the series. I gave up trying to get a good copy of S1 after 3 copies had 1, or...
You're welcome! I doubt the sequels will receive BD releases.
While it is a bit annoying to get several copies of some of the films if, like me, you purchase the entire series it *is* good for those who just like one or two of the "creatures" as they get all the associated films without...
The stand-alone BDs do not have the sequel films in the various franchises, just the main feature. I'd go with the Legacy Collection DVDs and only purchase the BD should I not be happy with the main feature quality. My understanding is the same print was used for the main feature for both...
You're welcome!
From my research and as best as I can tell they are the same transfers used in the Legacy sets. I'd say that all are better quality than that 1999 Dracula release. A few title cards/sequences are a bit rough but once past those the films all have good to very good transfers...
That's *almost* exactly what it is. I own both the original Legacy flipper sets and the new SS package.
The transfers of the main or lead film for each franchise are the ones created for the Blu-ray restorations which means cleaned up audio and video. Those films also include all the extras...
Wow! I didn't know about that Aussie version! Thanks! I may have to get one of those.
Yes, the Universal sets are *all* OOP (according to Micheal's Movie Mayhem). That includes the individual seasons, the volume sets, and the complete set.
I can't 100% confirm but there should be no...
Of course they are since I didn't look at my set to verify before posting! I've been on somewhat a mission to replace them for so long because of the crappy package I'd zoned and begun thinking they were DS discs! And I'd still do it *if* the price were right.
Even so... that full series set...
