I will also be sad to see Moffat go, though whatever you think of him it is a good time to move on and freshen up the show with a new guiding hand. Five series seems to be a decent run.
I loved the episode and also thought it was one of the strongest this season. I especially liked the way in which Clara's recklessness has played into this and though it has been telegraphed obviously all season, it played out really well here. I like the fact it could so easily have been...
Looking forward to it - there were some shaky moments in Season 8 but overall I quite enjoyed it. There was a lot of focus on Jenna Coleman last year which I enjoyed but I hope and think the show may strike a better balance this year, especially given where they ended last season and the...
Interesting list :) Pretty even between Moffat and Davies with a Curtis episode thrown in for good measure.
Not surprising to see Blink at the top. The Girl in the Fireplace was the episode that piqued my interest in the show far more. The one in there that didn't do anything for me was The...
Sorry I posted that as I thought it was a bit tongue-in-cheek from Moffat regarding Santa being real or not. I'm sure he meant to include the others waking up in his explanation of what was real. Either way he gave himself the biggest and easiest way out of a plot hole ( it was all a dream ). In...
Speaking at the press launch for the special at London’s BFI earlier this month, the showrunner stated: “Everything except the very last scene is a dream.”Moffat added: “The [last shot of the] tangerine represents the fact that Santa Claus obviously stage-managed the whole thing to get the...
I'm normally not keen on the Christmas specials but I loved last years and whilst this doesn't have the impact obviously as that one was a regeneration, it was still quite an affecting episode in the end, a lot of humour, a homage to Alien and Inception and an answer to whether Clara is leaving...
A guy who was in love with Clara and was initially jealous telling you not to like him ?? What about Clara's opinion of him who was by far the more important surrogate for the audience? She stuck with him throughout. More to the point from the very first episode, from the previous Doctor himself...
Don't think you were supposed to dislike and hate him - that wasn't the intent. If you did fine that's a fault but it wasn't intentional on the show's part. I found Capaldi's Doctor to be very likeable, just more abrasive.
Enjoyed the resolution though I do sort of hope that is the last we see of The Master to be honest. Thought Michelle Gomez however was great in the role.
Seems to me like the rumours of Jenna Coleman leaving are down to the ending of this episode though I suspect that, given the episode sets up...
Agreed it is probably the weakest episode this season. The Red Riding Hood/Hansel and Gretel motifs etc might have worked better has there been something proactive that had to be done, but in the end it was simply stand and wait.
Sorry for being a sheep ( not for a second do I think the show is perfect nor is it as bad as you make out ) and yes opposing views are good but quite why you would wade through 4 seasons of a show you clearly don't like baffles me. It's like going to the fourth Transformers film and expecting...
Please, please after nearly 4 seasons of Moffat who you seem to blame for every single negative aspect of the show, why don't you stop watching then ?? I get that the forum is open to positive and negative reactions, but there comes a point where surely you give up on the show and move on.
To...
Jeffrey_H I know ur a Who fan but seven episodes in and your distaste for Moffat's show running is evident. So why keep watching ?? It's not like the show won't be there when he is no longer show runner and a new Who turns up. Id understand if it was one episode but it seems apparent u haven't...
I for one enjoyed last night's episode and whilst there has been a much greater focus on Clara this season (and the actress has risen to it IMO ), after such an underwhelming start to the character in Season 7 and with rumours of a potential departure in the near future, it seems to me they are...
I don't think there was really any doubt as to who was behind the heist, rather the interest was aimed at why he was behind it.
But this has been the weakest episode for me so far - there were some clever moments and it was fun in places but nothing particularly stood out as memorable. A shame...
Count me as one who thought "Listen" was the first truly great episode from Capaldi's tenure. Have enjoyed all of them to varying degrees so far but this was initially creepy, yet they took it in unexpected directions, and created a beautiful ending. Like the majority of this series really, it...
The reviews I have read seem to suggest the Series 1-4 US Blurays are the best there is at present. They haven't been released in the UK I don't think either.
I also love the scene in the restaurant when they realised something wasn't right - quite creepy, and the moment when Clara tries to escape when holding her breath was very tense.
Matt Smith's "cameo" was both surprising and wonderfully touching and agree with Adam in that it really felt like a...
This will be the first time I have watched WHO when the show airs having gone through all the seasons last year for the first time.
Looking forward to it as I loved Capaldi in his previous roles and I expect great things from him.
Well I posted a while back that Capaldi's casting piqued my interest in the show and I have now made it through all seven seasons of the new version. Have to say I have avoided Doctor Who for a long time despite the fact it seems my kind of show, but there was something about it that I simple...
Piqued my interest in watching the show as I like Capaldi, though I doubt he will be anything like his most famous character, Malcolm Tucker. Now that would be different!!!
