    Doctor Who

I thought it was a pretty good intro for a new Doctor, new companions, and a new creative team. And yes, Whittaker absolutely owns the role. Looking forward to seeing where she and the writers take it.

    Doctor Who

    I stand corrected; it's back.

    Doctor Who

It had been on Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu for a good long while. If BBC is starting their own streaming service, does that mean their other shows will leave those platforms as well?

    Doctor Who

There was apparently one way to get Day of the Doctor at the correct speed on Blu-ray. There was a limited box set in the UK (and possibly Australia) that contained Name, Day, and Time of the Doctor, plus The Five-ish Doctors and An Adventure In Time & Space. Day of the Doctor was 24p in the...

    Doctor Who

That's how I feel. I certainly understand some of the criticism of where Moffat has taken the show, and even I think he's often written himself into a hole, but you can't convince me he doesn't care. Even back on Coupling his Who fandom was fairly evident. Aside from the golden arrow silliness...

    Doctor Who

I don't; I've actually only really gotten into Who over the last couple of years, and that's been mostly through online streaming services. I don't own any of Seasons 1-4 (though I do have the Tennant Specials Blu-ray set). I thought about getting that Complete 1-7 box set, but decided not to...

    Doctor Who

I guess that's technically correct, but 24fps still feels wrong to me. And the audio is still somewhat flanged. I don't know if that's an artifact of the pitch correction (it doesn't seem to affect Time of the Doctor), but whatever the reason, there are sections that sound pretty terrible.

    Doctor Who

Although both "Day of the Doctor" and "Time of the Doctor" are now streaming on Netflix in HD and at what appears to be the correct speed (and "Day" doesn't sound flanged).

    Doctor Who

I dunno; that sort of thing tends to bug me a little. Kind of like when Star Trek: Enterprise tried to explain the reason there were both bumpy-headed Klingons and more human-looking ones. Sci-fi fans are generally smart enough to accept that sort of thing without an in-universe explanation...

    Doctor Who

Looks like a pretty good set. It's probably too much to hope that the episodes will run at the correct speed, but maybe they'll at least fix the sound on Day. Since it's limited, is a US release unlikely?

I think those clothes are just the remains of Matt Smith's from the regeneration, and Clara is definitely in the same outfit from that scene, so I doubt we've seen the "official" look of the Twelfth Doctor yet.

    Doctor Who

I'm kind of like Scott. Although I saw a few older Who episodes when I was younger and was somewhat intrigued (I also saw the TV movie in 1996), I didn't really start to become a fan until very recently with the current series. And what I've realized about "nuWho" is that it not only made me a...

    Doctor Who

I think some slight rewriting could have made it work. The reveal would just have had a different meaning, and I think if the Eighth Doctor had had a long life and watched the Time War rage on around him, he could have been driven to fighting. At any rate, it's just something that stuck out to...

    Doctor Who

I enjoyed it, too. Good story, wonderful character moments, and John Hurt certainly classes up anything he's in. However, I wonder if there's any particular reason why Hurt's character couldn't have been Paul McGann the whole time. Can you imagine the reaction if it had been McGann that showed...

    Doctor Who

I really enjoyed An Adventure In Space and Time as well. It seemed like it moved a little fast (there were probably some great details that they just couldn't get to in a 90-minute movie), but it was still was pretty nice, and David Bradley was terrific.
