So I turned on my system and the audio comes through fine, but the video is varying degrees of scrambled depending on the device I'm using.
I am fairly sure after checking the inputs and the cables it is a problem with the receiver so I don't expect someone to solve the problem for me (but I'd...
Hey Scott,
So i finally found an Ethernet cable long enough to connect to my TV (Had to dig through alot of boxes) unfortunately the TV did not have any updates available.
I think you are correct that there is some kind of handshake issue, because it appears that everytime i use a new input...
Hey Scott,
I did think of that idea as well. Unfortunately more testing has determined that itbis not the input.
Right now it seems like this is the biggest coincidence yet or I am missing something very basic.
We are now getting the audio lag on both inputs, with both our cable box and the...
Ok So i know this is going to be a weird one.
I bought my wife a Sony BDP-S3700 as a little add on gift, it was intended to replace the aging DVD player on our secondary TV.
It is connected via HDMI directly to our Samsung TV, and we use the TV speakers.
The first unit i had displayed a very...
Yeah it looks to me like he used the term "paper" specs just to differentiate from things like picture quality etc. ie they only report on the measurable things not the subjective things.
Thanks for the awesome information David, and yeah i found the same thing looking at ebay the prices were insane. Do you know of any resource where i could confirm that guardians vol 2 is actually region free?
Hey David thanks for the reply, i headed straight over to Amazon.co.uk but unfortunately theirs is region 2 so it wont work for me here in Canada.
I did want to ask though, where are you looking that you are finding just the 3d disc people are stripping out? I really dont mind paying a small...
I did a search and could not see this topic addressed recently, but this year with both Star Wars Rogue One, and with Guardians of the Galaxy, there was only one way to get a 3D copy in Canada.
For Rogue one it was a limited edition steelbook exclusive to Best Buy, and from what I can tell they...
Its pretty simple, 3D tv, Denon X5200W powering all 9 Paradigm speakers, and every single component i have all hooked into one Amplifier at long last :)
Yeah...... should have read more of my manual years ago i guess, on my old Yamaha amp that was not the case, the multi-channel inputs were their own input, but on the Onkyo where they are assignable this was necessary
So Ed, i dont know if you check the forum anymore, but i never got it working..... just could not figure out the problem, and now today after having to hook p my system again, i tried a few more things, and it turns out that i needed to press the audio selector button on the Onkyo remote to have...
For my part i dont have a problem with mistakes that a company owns up to and fixes, much better than the companies that claim no mistake was made at all after the fact.
Hi David,
I will definitely check those options out, but started my amp collection with a sony (sure it was a cheaper one about 500 dollars) and i found it woefully inadequate (though this was long before HDMi etc) then i later upgraded to a Yamaha i cant remember the model number (I think it...
So i will start by saying its unlikely i will actually upgrade my amp, but it is bugging me so i cant help doing some research and looking around.
I am currently running an Onkyo TH-NR905B, and i love it except for one thing, HDMI.
there are not enough inputs, and it will not pass-through a...
My ideal Atmos set up would be of course anchored by the Onkyo TX NR-1030 Paradigm Studio CC-690 center Channel, Paradigm Studio 100 main left and right, Paradigm Studio 60's for the surrounds and rears, with Dual PC-13 Ultra SVS Subs.
All that with a 65" LG 3D tv and a comfortable couch...
I bought my dream receiver about 8 years ago, an Onkyo TX-NR905B and to this day i love it still, but with a 3D tv and all the components i have hooked up half my stuff goes direct tot he TV, and i have HDMI cables running through splitters and Optical audio cause i just don't have enough inputs...
Ok so this is related to another thread ive posted, call this my backup plan.
I have an Onkyo TX-NR905.
Its great i love it, it does everything i need except deal with 3D signals.
So im beginning to wonder if a preamp would be the right solution. The thing is most of the preamps ive searched...
Hi Sam,
Ive tried before ans unfortunately its true the 905 wont pass through the 3d signal :(
I just popped int he avengers as a test and witht he 2d BD disc i get the lossless sound and video through the splitter.
Now to be fair it shows as multichannel on my amp as the PS3 does the lossless...
Ok so im praying someone here can help me, ive got an Onkyo NR905B and i use my PS3 as my blu-ray player.
Currently im set up as follows
PS3 Output via HDMI to HDMI splitter
HDMI splitter to LG 3D tv
and HDMI splitter to Onkyo NR905B
when watching non 3d content this works fine, i get video...
From the reviews ive read the main concern on the passive models seems to be the half vertical resolution to each eye, but i have read one review where they tested it with text and showed that it was not a problem, ie they could read text that should have been unreadable with only half...
Hi Everyone, Its been a while since i last posted here but im hoping to change that, the HTF has always been one of my favourite places on the net and ive been struggling with a problem lately and well i cant believe it took me so long to think to come here with it. I'm keenly interested in...
Im having some trouble getting my multichannel inputs to work on my Onkyo reciever. Ive got it all hooked up properly, but im not getting any sound when i play from my Yamaha DVD S2300 Any thoughts would be appreciated.
You know my main concern on this whole 3D thing is what about my AMP?
now before you say what, my concern is specifically this HDMI 1.4, my Onkyo amp that i shelled out big bucks for does not have an HDMI 1.4 chipset in it, so will that mean i cant passthrough the 3D signal through my amp...
Do you have any advice on what exactly to look for in a turntable? cause honestly im not up ont he lingo, i dont know what brands offer what feature, etc.
Mainly i dotn like to walk into a purchase based solely on price, for example i know with a DVD player the chips make a difference, both...
Hi,
I saw a thread sort of going on this but i did not want to hijack that thread, ive recently started picking up some of my favourite albums on Vinyl, more for the collectibility (ive always had the itch to collect anything and everything)
Anyway now that i have a few i want to be able to...
