Selling my Integra DHC 80.2. This was used in my dedicated home theater, about 2-3 times per month to watch a movie, because I have a different HT setup in my living room for daily TV watching.
the specific product details can be found here...
The amp is not turning on. no signs of life. im assuming power supply issue. Velodyne qouted me $275 for repair. I may still do that, but I picked up the SVS on Craigslist for $400. I always wanted a SVS, but i thought maybe the velodyne driver would be an improvement.
I have a SVS sub ( not sure of the model number ) it has a 12" driver. It sounds great, but distorts a bit at high levels at the bottom end.
I have an older Velodyne HGS-12 with a blown amp. The driver is fine. Would it be worth testing putting the velodyne driver in the SVS sub? not sure...
I suggest you spend some time reading through the history that lead to the creation of harmy's versions. Theyre not being sold. He did it because he cares. Presenting the movies correctly is an obsession for him, ( and most members of that forum) and the level of attention to detail is off the...
The attention to detail and level of effort put into Harmy's fan edit exceeds the efforts of most "professionals" The only difference is that Harmy is working with limited tools and resources. "Professionals" are often working with limitations that prevent the best product from being released...
Anyone heard anything about this title? The remastered version is on itunes, but im holding out for the BluRay. This is my desired title that has yet to be released on BD, along with The Abyss. Something about those underwater movies I guess.

I have job that has a couple days a week where I can work from home. As I did my work in the office I would just throw a disc in the PC, let it rip, then throw in another. I probably went through 10-20 discs per day. I'm guessing it took me a few months. I still buy discs and now I immediately...
I was approaching 2000 discs (Blu, DVD, TV) and 1000 or so CDs, and decided something had to be done. I was running out of shelf space. I decided to rip all my discs to hard drive. I now use a dedicated HTPC to play back all my content, and the movies are all in the crawlspace stored in...
I saw this in Los Angeles in 70mm. The detail in the 70mm scenes was impressive. I was continually distracted by the switches between scenes shot in 35 and 70, and also by the flicker that I saw. The more I get used to digital, the more I notice the shortcomings of film projection. I see the...
Thanks! Im not crazy about the curtains hanging on the wall, but they do a nice job of darkening the space, and they help with sound quality. Hopefully someday ill have a larger home with a better theater space.

I have the current appletv (aka appletv3).
I really like it.
I think how much you like it depends greatly on owning other apple products. using it to airplay photos/music/etc from iphones and itunes makes it worth the price alone.
Streaming services such as hulu and netflix work great...

In my opinion, there are pros and cons to 70mm and 4k projection... with no clear winner.
There is this:
4k DLP vs 70mm shootout...

I have pre ordered, but I agree that I hope the price drops. I have already bought these movies in all prior VHS and DVD versions, so I already have most of the special features.
I too would rather have this than the Bond set.
Sony's SXRD technology is prone to color shift over time if they are not well maintained, and continually calibrated. DLP, by comparison is less prone to these drifts, particularly uniformity issues, but benefits from continual recalibration just the same.
Digital is already flicker-free. The flicker of film caused by 24 frames of image and 24 frames of black per second. The black is when the shutter is closed, and the film frame is moving.
Digital is also 24 FPS, but rather than show alternating black frames, they show each frame for twice as...
