I agree, it's a decent movie that I enjoyed quite a bit. Emmanuel being a good looking badass helped quite a bit in that regard.

It's just a movie. Numerous movies have been remade since the beginning of the silent film era and such a repetitive process will continue in Hollywood and other film communities. It's the nature of the beast.

I'm feeling it because movies with badass women always appeals to me.:) I don't see anything wrong with a director wanting to remake one of his previous films with a new cast of diverse actors. It's not like anyone is forcing you to watch it.
