I'm beginning to like the Broncos choice of Sean Payton. At least to start, he's coming in and straightening things out. At least it seems that way. Similar to Deion Sanders kicking the rust off the Colorado football program.
Reggie, you've gotten me to look up stuff on Rodgers. He really does seem to be going a little over the edge. I wonder if he even got too weird for Shailene, who seems to be rather odd in her own right.
That quote is quite well known, and honestly, if I was choosing a QB, that alone would disqualify him from my consideration. I recall when Payton Manning voluntarily cut his contract in his final season to open up cap space for the team. That's a team minded QB.
To be fair to Russell, there was at least one game after Hackett departed where he showed real signs of the player he can be. I think it might have been the KC game. By that point in the season, I think the defense had gotten sick of trying to save them.
You just can't make this up.
With the departure today of Ejiro Evero as the Broncos' DC, apparently on their short list is Brian Flores, who last I heard, was suing them for prejudicial hiring practices.
Unless something has changed, there’s a little known rule that if a third QB comes into the game before the 4th qtr, he has to play the rest of the game. SF has to play Purdy until the 4th qtr.
They might be able to have Purdy on the field in wildcat formation.
The name being tossed around for Denver now is DeMeco Ryans. I guess the plan of someone with HC experience is down the tubes. Honestly, why not Bieniemy. He has Colorado connections.
The Broncos would pay $20M for a coach in a heartbeat. They genuinely don’t care. They aren’t going to give up more drafts, and don’t want a complete egotist, though. Bye Payton.
Latest reports are that Payton is burning his bridges by talking too much, and so he is unlikely to be hired by anyone this year.
He’s apparently WAY out of consideration by the Broncos.
…because when I despise something so much that it constantly makes my head explode… I spend all my time watching it, thinking about it, writing about it, ranting about how awful it is, commenting about how awful it is, watching it more, ranting more…
Actually, I don’t.
I will second a comment from the broadcast. I played a lot of basketball growing up and rolled my ankles more times than I can count. Rolling it out, with your foot inward, isn't a big deal. Rolling it in hurts like a MFer. It's amazing how much of a difference there is.
