Texans and Colts are putting their newly drafted QBs on the field immediately. I haven’t heard what the Panthers are doing with Young.
I assume we’re going to hear about the new Burrow contract sometime this week.
I think it’s a bit curious that they gave up on him rather quickly, and settled for whatever they could get, especially right after Lynch said he’d likely be on the roster. Did something happen behind the curtain, like he threw a fit because he wasn’t the backup?
Wow- 49ers gave up 3 first round picks to Miami to select QB Trey Lance 3rd overall in the 2021 draft. Reports are they traded Trey to Dallas for a 4th round pick in the 2024 draft. That’s a very poor ROI.
Amazing how the Steelers were fighting for the playoffs in week 18 last year. They did it with smoke and mirrors. The division will be one of the better ones- I still think the Browns had better compete for it this year- the team has to look like something immediately.
Jets have to lock and load, and go for it as hard as they can now, with Aaron there. Going to be one of the most interesting stories in the AFC this year, along with the Browns, Bills, Chargers, Bengals and Broncos.
I figured we wouldn’t see him at all in the preseason (we wouldn’t have seen much of him, even had he not gotten injured). If he misses the first game or two, not a huge deal (I think the Ravens come to town in week 2- looking like that’s a pretty big game already).
Bengals fans got a little scare today (hopefully that’s all it is)- Burrow was carted off the practice field. What’s been said up to this point is a calf injury.
Chargers and QB Justin Herbert agreed on a 5 year, $262.5 million contract. Article I read didn’t specify how much of the deal is guaranteed (wouldn’t be surprised if almost all of it is). Burrow has to be grinning ear to ear right now.
The Jets and Rodgers agree on a 2 year, $75 million deal-...
Giants and Barkley agree on a one year, $11 million deal. A $2 million signing bonus. I thought the deadline to negotiate contracts with franchise tagged players had passed.
Training camps open soon, and my question is what’s the delay/holdup on the Bengals and Burrow hooking up with a contract extension? The way QB contracts work, the one that signs the most recent is the highest paid, and Burrow deserves to get paid as an elite QB- he’s already the best QB the...
Exactly the reason I wouldn’t be quick to jump on that Jets bandwagon- they have too many good teams to get past in the conference. Just because Aaron is there, doesn’t mean they’re now better than, or even as good as the Chiefs, Bengals, Bills or even the Chargers.
About the prediction of...
NFL.com writer and SiriusXM radio host Adam Schein posted 9 bold predictions- the more notable ones are a Sam Darnold-led 49ers team beats the Jets in Super Bowl 58, the Cardinals go winless, the Packers pick 2nd in next year’s draft, and Kraft could fire Belichick if the Patriots don’t make the...
Looks like the league is going to allow each team to designate an emergency QB for each game going forward, due to what happened in the NFC Championship Game. I assume a practice squad QB will have to be at the ready on game day. Not a bad rule change.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow has admitted a contract extension is in the works. He’ll get more money than Hurts or Jackson, and he definitely deserves more money than those guys. You’d think the Chargers and QB Justin Herbert is in talks too.
Sad that not only are games being shoved further into prime time (the tuck rule debacle was the first prime time postseason game in league history, not counting the Super Bowl), but now fans are being forced to get into streaming. I don’t stream, so no thanks.
I think the Broncos are a possibility, if Wilson looks mediocre/bad.
The Cardinals- what would it cost them to unload Murray’s contract? A lot. I never have liked his size, and he doesn’t appear to be a great leader.
I seriously doubt the Colts would take Williams, after drafting Richardson...
Giants are not going to have much home cooking to start the season- they host Dallas on the first Sunday night game, then have 7 of their next 9 games on the road. I read that this is a first- no team has played 7 of their first 10 games away from home before, at least since the bye week was...
Funny you say this about NFC QBs- my buddy and I were talking about this topic last night. There is a dearth of quality QBs in the conference.
I still wouldn’t put the Jets in front of Buffalo in the AFC East. The Bills are going to be under increasing pressure to get it done. Let’s see how...
