Well, I'll hold out for ESPN. Not that Madden won't be a great game, but I want to play on-line. Even though I have all three systems, I always prefer the X-box version when a game comes two or three ways. Being on a home theater forum, you can understand why. Sorry EA, maybe next year... IF...
Glen, Great job on the new format. I always look forward to seeing your post on Sunday mornings, and I appreciate the time you take to put it all together.
When not watching 5.1 material, usually pro logic II will be the popular choice. I would highly recommend buying a Radio Shack SPL meter and doing a search on how to use it, this would be a great place to start. When you say you have to turn up the volume half way, I'm not sure how loud that may...
Here is something to keep in mind. Any time you use your Best Buy credit card after you buy your TV, the money you send them will FIRST go toward paying off your 90 day purchases, not toward tour TV. So make sure you send in extra money, over and above your predetermined monthly TV payment if...
I rented Ratchet and Clank and can not see how you would enable 480P. I have searched this and other web sites and have not found any information showing this game is in fact 480P. Anyone?
Thanks for sharing the information Evelio, I too, am anxious for you to get it back. Have you had to watch your TV with the TV speakers? Actually, do TV's even have speakers? ;)
Evelio, You are the first person I have seen on the the various forums upgrading your receiver. A lot of us have been thinking about it. This is exciting. PLEASE, come back to this thread or start a new thread telling us the details. I will also be anxious to here how many days you have to live...
You say "no complaints now" what do you want to accomplish? Do you need more power? Do your speakers present a difficult load to your receiver? Not at all. What I'm looking to accomplish is simply, better sound. I didn't want to come across negative but I did want to get my message...
I own the Pioneer 49TX and B&W CDM 1SE speakers (mains/center will be upgraded soon). I have no complaints. But I do wonder. So, those of you who are using flagships with external amps, what are your thoughts? Which amps are you using and why? Please don't chime in with the "should have gone...
Mine is "yatch". My last name is Yatchak. I realize it's not a very exciting name. My logic was that it would be an easy name for my competition to say while playing against me. And second, Nobody else uses it;)
I have a 49TX which is capable of bass management. I also have a Energy 12 ES which gives me the option to use the subs internal crossover or bypass it. I have always used the subs crossover, set the speakers in the 49 to small and crossover at 80 and dialed the sub to 100. (which is as high as...
I understand the 49TX offers bass management. I must be missing something. I have looked in the manual and on this board for info and haven't seen anything in regards to setup. I can't find bass management anywhere in the menu. Is this feature set automatically by the receiver and not accessible...
Yesterday I bought a Pioneer VSX 49TX from a local store. I absolutely love it. I paid $3200.00 plus tax (6 months same as cash) for the unit. After reading various posts, I see a lot of people paid $500.00-$700.00 less. Now I hear the TXi is right around the corner and will sell for the same...
After reading my original post again, I should clarify. I do have the B&W CDMC SE center to match the fronts. The Energy's are already used for the surrounds for 5.1 listening, I still have the matching Energy fronts & center which I will add as needed (6.1/7.1) when a final decision is made...
I appreciate the informative responses. I have more to think about and listen to than I thought. I stopped by a local home theater store today and listened to some equipment. As bad as I wanted to leave with a shiny new receiver, I had to muster all the testosterone I could and walk away...
I am ready to retire my old faithful friend, the Denon 3200.
I'm looking to spend roughly $3500.00 and am considering the usual suspects, Denon 4802 (has all the latest features), Denon 5800, B&K307 (lacks some of the latest features) and the Marantz 9200 (which also has all the latest...
This will cure all your component switching needs:D
From what I understand, S-video will be converted to component. Check it out....http://www.smr-home-theatre.org/ces2...mage_024.shtml
Phillip,
Currently, I have the Denon 3200 & B&W CDM1 SE speakers.
I'm hoping to stay under $3500.00.
The Marantz 9200 seems to have all the features any "new" receiver may have to offer this spring.
I really like the idea of having three component inputs. I also thought of waiting for...
I am ready to purchase a Marantz 9200. With the electronic shows right around the corner, would you advise waiting a few months and see what may be available?
This unit has everything I want/need. I don't know what else a receiver may offer over and above the Marantz. Any thoughts?
I really don't think you will notice a difference at all. Neither machine offers progressive scan playback. Keep in mind that these are first and foremost a game machine. I would highly recommend your decision be based on the type of games you enjoy playing. I assume your budget may be...
Jason,
Yes, buy the adapter. Guy's, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Xbox is capable of progressive scan when playing games. Your TV simply receives the signal. Progressive scan is done from the hardware (DVD player, Xbox, etc..) As I understand, most games will come in at 480P...
