Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

But... is it still the same better, new transfer (from the previous update)? ;) _Man_ PS: Sorry, saw and replied first on the other thread... though felt appropriate enough to do so here too given the overall context... :D

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Given that 4K discs are much more prone to defects, etc, it's always good to have an included BD for backup, especially if the BD comes from the same (new) transfer downconverted very well. Besides, a top quality BD can usually come extremely close to 4K in actual practice unless you actually...

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Yes, I was originally thinking that as well... but momentarily forgot that's likely a good option/approach. It has been a long while since I've gone/tried that route, heh... _Man_

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Good point. There will probably be at least some reviews before release date, perhaps including RAH's... although might possibly be too late for preordering, if they already sell out of initial wave/batch and the various online shops stop taking more (pre)orders until a 2nd wave/batch is...

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Yeah, I'm actually tempted to take the plunge on this premium priced preorder partly as an affirmation reward to Paramount. I can't recall the last time I preordered anything now (nor spent that much on 1 single movie release... well, ok, I did spend that much on the LoA 4K in that ugly...

One thing about that. IF you're not on their annual plan, you could probably always just bump it upto the premium tier for brief periods, but normally keep it at the lower tier (or even deactivate completely) most of the time. Some of us only bother subscribing to some of these services (at...

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Before they merged the two together, you coulda added Showtime for extra cost (and I've done that before), so... from that POV, there's nothing to grandfather about that. You're just getting the same w/out Showtime as before. What's not grandfathered is access to 4K for the ad-supported, basic...

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

I haven't seen for myself, but someone earlier said P+ doesn't seem to have this latest, updated 4K... and IMHO, that's unfortunately not surprising at all (anymore) given my own previous experience w/ P+... _Man_

Press Release Paramount Presents! Press Release: To Catch a Thief (1955) (4k UHD)

Since you probably don't do digitals, especially for this case, you might've missed what others already said (and concluded), but that comparison really doesn't matter (anymore) because the current, updated 4K digital (at least on Apple/iTunes) is what matters (for any comparisons of this sort)...
