But we have seen the Time Lords willing to alter the timeline before in Genesis of the Daleks, the Doctor would have done so but events overtook him, i guess that would fall under the post selected model of time travel, you cannot change things, yet in new Who you clearly can change things and...
There was a lot to like about the two episodes but i felt the scriptwriters were breaking the rules established throughout the new shows earlier run and also the original series, by that i mean the Doctor should not be able to change the timeline and history but he goes back to Davros as a young...
They may have looked like Cybermen but they didn't act like them, mere metal shells used as a plot device, any metal robot could have done the same job but i guess they had the props and they need to use them from time to time, there hasn't been a really good Cybermen story in a long, long time...
For every good episode there seems three bad episodes, i did not think much of this latest story, it was The Clara Show again, the Doctor was relegated to "companion" in a reversal that has been much in evidence this series, oh and just when i think they are doing away with the easy get out of...
Gotcha, in other words the writers are lazy so came up with a lame way to get to Gallifrey, i didn't buy it.
I'd rather they go back to the set up in The Day Of The Doctor, that wonderful speech by Tom Baker, "who nose" and let's have a full series set around the Doctor hunting for Gallifrey...
I'm pretty sure it was Gallifrey during the episode, it's highly unlikely the Doctor was brought up on another planet.
Thought about it more and correct me if i'm wrong but i watched that episode you refer to and the Doctor was on Gallifrey, he was in the desert wastelands as seen in the Tom...
Episode 4 of this new series, Listen.
Clara visits Gallifrey and comforts a small boy who turns out to be the Doctor, this should not be possible due to the time lock.
Yes, like not being able to visit Gallifrey, funny how the writers forgot about that one.
The writers forgot about that episode too going by some of the early dialogue.
It was an okay episode, it feels more like the Clara show than Doctor Who to me and i thought the script was hokey, very contrived, i'm not getting into this series, maybe later it will improve, i'm a long term watcher of the show but i feel the scripts are being written in a certain way to...
Sure you would, by including him the writers hope to stop any criticism of their political views via Doctor Who, they can point to that character, as you have, and say it isn't so, anyway's i'm still wondering what's happening to the characters who "die."
They really need to bring back Lazars Plague. :D
I know this is my reply to a very old post but i came into this thread late, while they are bringing things back i would go back to that parallel mirror universe and bring Romana back, she would have regenerated by now, oh and before anyone...
The show tonight was overly melodramatic, it felt a bit like a UK soap opera with silly comedy moments and again confirms this Doctor has an issue with soldiers, i'm not a fan of these type of stories, what i liked about classic Who was that it didn't need to show the companions families, for...
Tom Baker faced the Daleks twice in seven years of Doctor Who, one of which is a classic and the best Dalek story ever, he only faced the Cybermen once and he was of course playing the part when the Zygons were first shown, oh and Nessie. :D
I am currently watching classic Tom Baker episodes...
I was reading opinions at a site out there in internet land and someone speculated that this new series has everything to do with dreams, nice theory and some of that makes sense, i mean how could they land on Gallifrey a couple of episodes back isn't that time locked now, the whole series is...
I don't think anyone is asking for epic reality changing stories, i think Dr Who often works better with smaller stories.
This episode just didn't seem well written to me, to each their own though, glad someone enjoyed it. :)
You know what gets me, they set up the return of the Time Lords, even brought Tom Baker back for a great cameo and, then they had that awful Xmas special which basically ruined the entire set up of the previous episode, it's been downhill since then.
Hopefully it will pick up but i would love...
Three episodes in and i think the quality of the scripts has been a lot worse than last season. Regarding this latest Robin Hood episode, i disliked it, i thought the script was plain lazy and everything about it felt off, the Dalek episode was okay but this wasn't, far too much forced comedy...
The funny thing is when you are viewing My Content and click to see a snippet of the last posts on threads you are signed up to you can actually see the spoiler text, they maybe need to fix that if they can.
