Sort of odd if true, given that it appears to be sold directly by Amazon.com.
Usually it's 3rd party sellers you have to be wary about buying out of region releases from.
I'm still confused about Emergency! and the October 2016 four disc season one release that's $13.99 on Amazon compared to $34.98 for the upcoming May 9th release.
What's different here? Why would anyone buy the May release for well over twice as much, if they're both four disc single sided...
Is the October 2016 version the same thing? Much cheaper, but I only remember the complete series release happening last year.
This is no substitute for getting the new masters, ideally on Blu-Ray, but I'm still happy. Those early Universal flippers were awful and only would play without issue...
I've almost never seen any Shout Factory sets at Wal-Mart over the years. What classic tv that they've released that interested me, like Adam-12, usually has had to be bought online unless I wanted to pay scalper prices at my recently shuttered FYE.
CBS is the only one I've usually been able...
I don't know if it's compelling enough, but fans hate the flippers for the first two seasons of Emergency (Although in season 2's defense, the production quality seemed much improved and they were far less problematic as a result).
And the vast majority of its run on DVD is the unremastered...
I wish that they'd fix season 1 for Dragnet, Emergency, and Adam-12 (And season 2 of Emergency was also flippers, although they seemed to work better).
Wouldn't even mind if Emergency stayed the same as the flippers, even though season 1 apparently has since been remastered, since it still...
I thought that the season 1 release of The Facts of Life by Mill Creek was quite nice despite I believe 13 episodes on a single disc. But then again, I watched it on a standard definition CRT that was 26" or so.
On a large HDTV, stuffing so many episodes onto a single disc might not yield...
Flipper disc cost more than single sided disc to produce. But not twice as much so there's a savings there plus it allows for cheaper packaging due to a smaller disc count.
That's why they do it for.
