It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that that sex scene was enhanced by visual effects. Like they were filmed separately and spliced into that scene.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

This would have been a PG or PG-13 rated film if not for that brief sex scene. The nude scene alone would not have warranted an R rating.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

Who’s to say other than the filmmakers that it was unnecessary? Obviously Nolan thought it was necessary.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

There was only one sex scene. And I think one scene with nudity. That doesn’t seem gratuitous to me. Ymmv of course.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

Me either. I actually thought it was the most understandable of all his so called “unintelligible “ films.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

It’s gonna clean up at the Oscars.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

Btw, loved Nolan’s little nod to Interstellar when Oppie stopped Kenneth Branagh from eating the poisoned apple. “Wormhole”. 🤪

    Oppenheimer (2023)

It’s three hours long but edited and scored in such a way that those three hours just breezed by. I wasn’t bored for a second.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

So I finally sat down and watched Oppenheimer for the second time. Saw it once in IMAX and now my 4K disc. I’ve been saying for months now that I thought it was good but not great. Well my opinion has changed and I now think it is great. It flowed so much better at home and I was able to...

How Oppenheimer's Atom Bomb Explosion Was Created Without CGI Finally Revealed Oppenheimer VFX supervisor Andrew Jackson confirms that the film's atomic blast scene was filmed without CGI, but stresses that VFX – mostly digital compositing – were a crucial part of the process. Christopher Nolan...

    Oppenheimer (2023)

I was shocked to see an interview with Nolan where he said it was ok to watch his films on a phone. ON. A. PHONE what What WHAT??

Am I missing something. Why did you quote me?

    Oppenheimer (2023)

Easy. I get what you’re saying and I’m only referring to the 70MM presentation at my local AMC which has shown 70MM films in the past. I wasn’t trying to pass judgement on ALL 70mm presentations. Have you also seen the regular IMAX version and compared the two like I did?

    Oppenheimer (2023)

Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

This may be sacrilege but I popped in to my local AMC 70MM Oppenheimer showing for a bit just to compare it to the IMAX presentation at the same theater and it was disappointing. Softer and drabber than the crystal clear Laser IMAX presentation. I’m sure the IMAX 70MM presentation is...

    Oppenheimer (2023)

I thought this was an interesting article. Oppenheimer's atom bombs came close to destroying Japan for the third time EXCLUSIVE: First Hiroshima, then Nagasaki... yet Japan came frighteningly close to being targeted a third time by Oppenheimer's atomic weapons, as a new book reveals on the...

    Oppenheimer (2023)

One of the benefits of Oppenheimer’s success is the continued discussions of the horrors of nuclear war. And the impossible discussion of whether the US should have dropped those bombs. Amazing that these events occurred 78 years ago.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

26% of Oppenheimer’s opening weekend were IMAX sales, $21 million, an IMAX record in North America.

    Oppenheimer (2023)

So it looks like Oppenheimer will become the highest grossing film to never hit #1 at the boxoffice. The current record holder is Sing with $270 million. Oppenheimer should reach approximately $300 million. Very impressive, especially for a drama.
