    Zinema-style James Bond 007 Blu-ray Collection

the publicity shots from the Zinema covers for the movies in question were either too low-resolution/quality, or wouldn't work layout wise (since the area on the bluray cover is shorter vertically). I suppose I could redo them all with the bluray cover art to be consistent, but I'm lazy and it's...

    Zinema-style James Bond 007 Blu-ray Collection

if you can find me nice hi-res publicity shots for those films, I'd have no problem replacing the bluray shots. I was unable to find any of suitable layout/resolution otherwise I would have done so -Matt

    Zinema-style James Bond 007 Blu-ray Collection

Craig, as Charles said, I'm simply continuing the numbering system used on the original Zinema DVD covers. Official EON Productions Bond films are numbered according to release date (with the white/gold color scheme), and unofficial / companion films (CR 1967, NSNA, etc) are numbered "007"...

    Paramount boards the BD+ bus...

and like all other DRM, it fails miserably at that. With AnyDVD-HD installed, copying a bluray disc to an (unencrypted/unprotected) image or ripping the main movie to a file (complete with all audio tracks, chapters, etc) is ridiculously trivial.

    Paramount boards the BD+ bus...

BD+ does nothing to stop those who wish to rip bluray movies, since it was broken long ago. All it does is cause player compatibility issues, slower load times, etc, and in the end makes the product more expensive for the consumer without any actual benefit to the studio.

MGM/UA Did it again: Windowboxing on opening credits of Moonraker!!!

no, these are new masters, completely restored by Lowry. They are the source of the transfers used for the UE dvds as well, which is why any anomalies are likely to be found on both the UE dvd and Bluray releases

    Zinema-style James Bond 007 Blu-ray Collection

Thanks Charles, I very much appreciate hearing that, esp from you. Though I must confess, the '007' spine logo positioning was simply a product of resizing to fit the available space, with only minor tweaking by me. preview images and hi-res downloads for Thunderball and Live and Let Die...

    Difference bewteen 1080i and 1080p?

not only can it not display 1080p, but it doesn't accept 1080p as an input either (some 720p sets will accept 1080p and scale down to 720p). I'd set the player output to 720p.

    Difference bewteen 1080i and 1080p?

unless the player has an absolutely horrendous scaler, allowing the player to convert from 1080p24 to 720p60 will be better. I realize there is anecdotal evidence to the contrary, but IME this is almost always due to excessive artifacting produced by the multiple conversions giving a false...

    Difference bewteen 1080i and 1080p?

it means your bluray player is feeding the LCD a 1080i signal at 60Hz. The LCD is then converting that to 720p/768p @ 60Hz. You would be much better off setting your bluray player to output 720p, to avoid unnecessary format conversions.

    Zinema-style James Bond 007 Blu-ray Collection

Thanks, but I can't take all the credit. This style/design was originally created by Charles de Lauzirika (aka Zinema) for the DVD releases several years ago. I've done the covers for the last 3 films, and am now just reworking his original covers for the Blu-ray releases. preview images...

Charlie, with your permission, I'm more than happy to update the covers for the Bluray editions since I have a working template file. I've already created DVD covers for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, which are available on r1bd.com and via email by request. And I'm more than happy...
