    The really, really insane plan for Alien³ was in William Gibson's unused script. A resulting movie might not have worked, depending on who directed it, but Gibson's plot idea was, if nothing else, going in a very different direction.

    I don't recall grain structure when seeing the film theatrically (and I've probably seen Aliens more times theatrically than any other movie). It was with the home video releases that I first noticed the egregious amount of grain.
