Ghost in the Shell 2 on December 28th!

If it was in DTS, I would probably buy it, but since it's only DD, I may only rent it. Damn. And I thought DreamWorks repected the DTS!

"THX 1138: The George Lucas Director's Cut" to Street 09/14/04

Just a note: there have been plenty of artists throughout history who have never been statisfied with their work or seen it as "complete" and "finalized". In fact, many of them would prefer that the "original" would never be seen again, much like an author would throw out many drafts of his work...

Review: MUDANG: RECONCILLIATION BETWEEN THE LIVING AND THE DEAD (Korea, 2003)

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry during those scenes...it was such an odd thing to witness. The thing that made it more disturbing is that I think the woman genuinely, truly believed everything she said and did..although I suppose that could be debated.

Review: MUDANG: RECONCILLIATION BETWEEN THE LIVING AND THE DEAD (Korea, 2003)

Actually, I was thinking about this when I was watching the film..as you saw, one of the women he interviewed passed on before he even completed the documentary, so the temporary nature of their practice became even more clear...so I am certainly grateful to the filmmaker for his efforts, even...

Review: MUDANG: RECONCILLIATION BETWEEN THE LIVING AND THE DEAD (Korea, 2003)

I also have this disc, and I agree that it is an interesting bit of Korean culture...but not for everybody, that's for sure.

Yes, that is correct. They are both the same movie.

Please let us know how the transfer for the Director's Cut is! Is it anamorphic and is the quality good? Worth the price to buy the DVD?

Ju-on is one of the crappiest (not creepiest) films I have EVER seen. Period. Anyone else agree with me that the movie just sucked ass?

    Koreandvds.com Needs Your Help

I've been having the same problem for about 5 days now, and I can't seem to find a way around it. On my friend's computer it does the same thing, but when I tried a computer at the library, it worked fine (going to the English site), so I don't really know what the deal is with that...any ideas...

    Must Have Baseball Movies

For those more adventurous Baseball movie fans out there, I would recommend "YMCA Baseball Team" from Korea, and "Battlefield Baseball" from Japan.

BTW, I am curious which takes more space to compress (accurately) - black and white films, or color ones? Does anyone know?

Is Saving Private Ryan DTS OOP? New 2-Disc Release coming in May

BTW, here is the art for the R2 edition (released back in Sept. 2003), which I think looks very classy: Wish they could use that teaser poster image for the new R1 cover art instead of the big head syndrome all the time!

Is Saving Private Ryan DTS OOP? New 2-Disc Release coming in May

Why? Aside from the cover, we do not really know what the packaging will be like. It could just be a regular 2-disc amaray case that only "looks" like an ammo box.

Is Saving Private Ryan DTS OOP? New 2-Disc Release coming in May

I do not think that that release is the same as this one. Looking at Amazon.co.uk I see that there was a 2-disc DTS edition released last September in Region 2, but it only added one new special feature so far as I can tell ("Return to Normandy"), whereas it seems to me that they have created...

    Must see Korean movies

I recommend "MEMORIES OF MURDER" (2003, R1&3 Korean DVD), "UNTOLD SCANDAL" (2003, R3 only), "TAKE CARE OF MY CAT" (2000, R0), "SAVE THE GREEN PLANET!" (2003, R3 only), and the Lee Chang-dong Collection which includes all three of the director's great masterpieces - "GREEN FISH" (1997, R0)...

I would wait for this one if I were you: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...v=glance&s=dvd It's from Fox and it's supposed to have some good extras. I think the DVD comes with the original B&W feature and a new colorized version too.

*** Official THE LAST SAMURAI Discussion Thread

I don't like the idea of playing with history just to have an American character in there so the film will appeal more to western audiences, but if there has to be an American star, then I can't think of anyone better than Tom Cruise actually! So with that said, this is still my most anticipated...

Just got my copy of the box set in the mail today from Amazon.ca! Looks great!! BTW, I couldn't even find any of the 2-disc DVDs by themselves in the stores, never mind the actual boxed set.
