    Multi-Processor Shootout MNHTUG Sponsored Event

Kevin, You may be right, there is no room EQ with the B&K. I must have confused it with the Intega that I have now and the Parasound that I had before my Ref 50. I will verify when I have the shootout and get to spend some a few hours with the B&K rep.

    Multi-Processor Shootout MNHTUG Sponsored Event

Yes it does, at least the Ref 50 did so I will assume that the Ref 70 does as well. They provide a very nice microphone with the unit that you use to calibrate the Ref 50 (and 70 I am assuming) to be used in your room. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.

    HT Acoustics

Robert*B, First, please define what you mean by "an area dedicated to a home theater setup". Does this mean an area of the entire basement (one big open room) or will this "area" have four walls enclosing it from the rest of the open area? If this will be one big open room, go ahead with the...

    [HELP] Buying Used Projector!

For this type of application, you are probably going to be better off with a CRT projector. The tube life is usually 10,000 hours so displaying a picture for an extended period would not be a problem.

Why ebay a bad idea to purchase from?

eBay could be a great place to buy a projector, or it could be an horrible place. Like everything else, it depends on who you are dealing with. Do your research, get in contact with the seller and get your questions answered up front. If you have any hesitation, walk away. For big ticket...

Home Theater Amplifier shootout in MN

I am starting to acquire a love/hate relationship with these shootouts. This is the second serious shootout that we have done, the first was on projectors a year or two ago (whenever the Marantz and Sharp DLP’s came out). These are a lot of work to setup and conduct, but they are definitely...

    Krell Theatre Standard

I just sold mine, I thought it was a reat amp. It's REAL heavy (about 100 pounds), so be careful when you take it out of the box. By the way, one of the best box designs I have seen in some time. I think you will really enjoy it.

Andrew*L, Sorry that I never pulled that ad, I thought that I did. I sold that sub months ago. In fact, I am now trying to sell it's replacement, the Revel Performa B15. This is an incredible sub, much better than the Earthquake if you want to move up a grade or three.

    DVD for HTPC

I have been using the Pioneer and it works great. For a software DVD player, I use the TheaterTek program. It is easy to install and has the best picture quality I have seen so far with a HTPC. If you don't know about TheaterTek, look here: http://www.theatertek.com/

Building a new house and HT from scratch, what type of wiring should I do itially

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned using the computer for X-10 type home automation. That is why you would run the CAT-6 to the kitchen, bedroom or any other room. Do it while you have the chance. You will kick yourself later when you can't because you have to dig through walls. Another...

Home Theater Forum Review: THEATERTEK HTPC DVD SOFTWARE (UPDATED: Info on vers 1.5)
