    I Love My Neighbors

Have fears of wildfires had an effect on home sales up there, Julie? After last year, I'd be very wary of such concerns. Oh, and once again: I really like my neighbors. I like my whole neighborhood.

Julie, remember that thread idea you ran by me a couple of years ago? You know, the one about the solicitors arriving at your door while you were screening one of your beloved zombie flicks and there was a lot of screaming and the solicitors flinched? Wonder how that would play? Meanwhile...

Jesse, that's right out of Leave it to Beaver! So Americana. Bingo, RobertR! Anybody remember an animated 60-second spot featuring a man in a chair arguing with his stomach, who is sitting in another chair? Or how Benson & Hedges promised its customers a bathing-beauty figure (to the...

Oh, you're here, Lew. Well, I bet you do know those ad-campaign references, every one of 'em. And now a classic from a print ad campaign (from ad giant Ogilvy & Mather): "Think small."

Zen, Dolby 3.0 is only three-channel stereo. Basically, the front speakers are active but the surrounds are silent. "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." Remember that one, from 1971? "Mama mia, that's a some speecy meatball." From the same campaign, also in 1971.

Hey, Pamela, one of my admin buddies (Vince) might be in town Sunday and he said he wants to go with me to see a certain-film-that-cannot-be-discussed-here-until-it-is-released. At any rate, you're welcome to join us. Send a PM. Zen, I'm happy -- very happy -- that you enjoyed your Zardoz...

Oh, and Zen, off topic: I tried accessing your Zardoz comments but couldn't get the link to work. Steve Christou tells me you posted your review of the film in that thread no one likes to talk about too much. Would have gotten back to you, but it has been horrendously busy 'round here of late...

Mostly women in my building. All very nice. One is very friendly. I'm doing fine. (Across the hall from me, where a very nice woman lives with her two Himalayans -- my beloved Colorpoint Shorthair sniffs at her door every evening as we make our rounds patrolling the first floor -- I used to have...
