What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

Love MTM but having to store and juggle 20 discs to watch seems unwieldy. Hulu has all seasons online in at least DVD quality or better for those wanting easier access.

Movies & Cinema during the Pandemic? Catch-all Discussion

Sadly nobody will ever say they caught covid at a theater because with so few people showing up now, theaters will all be shut down sooner rather than later.

4K 65" TV for Living Room (TV, Streaming)?

Don't waste time browsing BB if you want to see a TCL or Vizio set in action. Last time I was there they just had Samsung's and Sony and LG on display. Plus they have a horrible set up these days. Many sets are mounted way too high up on their walls to get a real world test. Most "budget" TV's...

    Things that baffle you?

Sadly nobody will ever be able to enforce "proper" mask wearing, ever.

    Things that baffle you?

I see it daily. Humans weren't built to wear masks all hours of the day so I don't expect everyone to do "proper" coverage. Is having nose put really that dangerous though?

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

Agreed. You are one of a tiny minority of film affianado's who will most likely be trapped in a disc world for the needs you have.

    Things that baffle you?

"in a pandemic" seems more appropriate in conversation.

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

I'm sure some of all could be found to stream or buy digitally, but that list is far far from mainstream and most folks won't be looking for such titles due to the niche categories they fit in. For you, streaming isn't a good fit, but you make up a tiny percent of the average viewing public.

Broadcast TV Batwoman - season 2 (The CW)

Is this supposed to be a new PC twist on Batwoman to appease certain demographics? She isn't black in the original comic is she, so why now?

    Things that baffle you?

Perfect area to ask this. How long can we be "in the middle" of a pandemic. I've been hearing people use the phrase since it started.

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

Like others have said and I agree, I've gotten to a point in my life that I'm getting burned out on many of the movies I've loved over the years. I could go years between watching and not really care. If it goes it goes. I no longer fret over missing a movie or old tv show.

Isn't this site called Home Theater Forum? There are forum topics about TV, AV equipment, movies, discs, STREAMING and much more. ALL topics related to home theater. So I'd say we should be allowed to discuss any of these topics civilly. Home Theater is evolving fast and folks need to realize...

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

It's been a while since I owned a blu ray player. Do they still need an internet connection to keep things updated and discs playing menus and so on correctly? Last player I used was also slow to fire up to the actual movie, are they quicker now?

For Those Who Still Think Physical Media Has No Place in the 21st century...

I have no desire to store stacks and stacks of plastic disc boxes be it in one location or spread out everywhere in the house. I used to think that was the way to keep media but streaming changed my world for the better. I press my remote from my sofa and ask it to "watch Indiana Jones" and...

Movies & Cinema during the Pandemic? Catch-all Discussion

Nobody knows anything for sure. But packing people into giant auditoriums hourly is needed for these movies to recoup their budgets. I really don't see that happening in 2021 or maybe even 2022. Money talks, don't think for a second that these "my film needs a theater!" directors won't cave if...

Movies & Cinema during the Pandemic? Catch-all Discussion

Well with a great swath of the public saying they're scared of a new vaccine when it hits, it will take possibly years to convince everyone to take it. At that point we may see people actually sitting next to each other in a theater.

Movies & Cinema during the Pandemic? Catch-all Discussion

If it sticks with theaters only, it could easily be 2023 or 2024 before we get anywhere near full packed theaters.

Pre-Order Wonder Boys (2000) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Add to that, as good as the movie was, it made only 33 million on a 55 million dollar budget. So interest in general will be quite low from the start.
