UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection - in 4k UHD Blu-ray

I could be wrong I believe that's the only difference. My understanding back then was that all the early BDs of Psycho contained the original mono, the only thing special about the 2010 UK disc (audio-wise) was that the original mono track was lossless. (That UK disc also had an AH Presents...

    Pre-Order S.O.S. Titanic (1979) (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

I'm excited to see both cuts of SOS Titanic at last. I grew up watching an old VHS of it, which I believe was a third cut. It definitely had the framing device, but when I looked it up on Google Image, I saw the packaging shows it was 98 mins, shorter than even the European theatrical cut...

Apparantly Titanic's the worst film ever...

I agree completely. Titanic was the highest grossing film of all time in 1997, and remains the third highest grossing film ever, precisely BECAUSE of its fictional love story, woven through the true story. The fictional love story is intentionally an elemental story, like a folk tale. Cameron...

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

I'm glad I posted here then. :) I was THIS close to starting a new profile there, and losing all my saved info. I would have really regretted losing my catalog of Blu-Rays and which ones I have viewed, I find that SUPER useful. By the way, I have to thank you, because you gave me a laugh I...

    Phew! That was scary.

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

Yep, they seem to have totally taken it down while they're presumably fixing it. For a while though it was up, but the forums were inaccessible, and we all thought we'd been banned.

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

I'm so grateful this community still exists too, so we can have this discussion. I joined here in 2003, but for the last few years I've posted more at the other forum, which I think I joined around 2009, though I read postings on both.

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

I'm not nearly tech savvy enough to try any of that, haha. I'm lucky if I can remember my password, haha. But that definitely makes it sound like the website is just having problems. I hope they're fixable, I know less than nothing about computers.

Ah, the site is entirely down again now. Hope they're fixing it.

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

That's what I was afraid of, I have heard of people being summarily banned there before. But I couldn't think of what on earth could have gotten me banned. I have politely argued with people about technical defects and such, but I have never said anything personal or nasty or filthy or...

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

The website itself isn't down anymore though, it's up, and I can see everything but the forums, which I'm denied access to. I can even see links to the forum pages when I click on each Blu-ray's product page. I just can't access the forums. Very strange.

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

I'm relieved it's all of us, that means they should be able to fix it. I know the forum usually goes down for about half an hour at 3am Pacific each night, but this was scary. I didn't realize how much the forum there meant to me until I saw I was "banned" from it. It was legitimately scary...

    Has Blu-ray.com forum been hacked?

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but I didn't see a section on the forums here that fit more properly than Blu-Ray. I haven't posted here in ages, I usually post at blu-ray.com The site there went down for about an hour just now, and when it came back about ten minutes ago...

    Wonderstruck on Blu-ray?

I have the Amazon US BD. It has all six of those featurettes, and a seventh, "The Music of Wonderstruck." I haven't watched it yet, but it does not list the interviews as being on the disc. It's not barebones though.

    Need 1941 Director´s Cut on Blu-ray!

Looks like a Spielberg boxset is coming this fall. First word of it has apparently leaked from Australia, where Universal does not control Munich. Strangely, however, it does not include Schindler's List, which Universal does control there. Duel Sugarland Express Jaws 1941 (both cuts) ET Always...

    WHV Announcement: Camelot (Blu-ray)

It's even more confusing than that. it looks like the releases are as follows: 4/24 Digibook BD (wide) Normal BD (Amazon exclusive) 7/17 Normal BD (wide) DVD (wide) There are two separate listings for the normal BD at Amazon with the different release dates, just as there were for Lolita and...

    AMISTAD and ALWAYS???

re: MUNICH - That's just an IMDB error. Universal released Munich both in theaters and on video in the US. It's an understandable mistake though, as many Spielberg-directed films at DreamWorks were co-productions, in which case the other studio distributed in the US and DreamWorks distributed...

    AMISTAD and ALWAYS???

Actually, AMISTAD, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and THE TERMINAL are the only DreamWorks films still waiting for release from Paramount. US video rights to MUNICH are with Universal, not DreamWorks. I also don't know that Paramount will have any interest in tying anything to WAR HORSE, as it's released...

    Blu-rays from the UK...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

Its a grand total of approx 5 mins of the film, but it's throughout the entire film. Various lines are redubbed in about 1/2 the scenes. To my mind the redubbing makes the film completely incoherent, as language and communication/inability to communicate are an absolutely core theme of the...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

You might want to check out Best Buy. I saw about half a dozen copies there the weekend before last on an endcap, and someone else on the blu-ray.com forum also saw copies at his local BB, priced at $14.99. He checked and they were the corrected pressing.

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

I just checked, the only difference in the first number is that the last digit in the new one is a 5, not a 2. As for the second, it seems useless, as while the number on the new version is different, the number on my copy of the old one is also different, must be a batch number or something...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

I watched the film all the way through last night. "Now we are so happy, we do the dance of joy!" - Balki Bartokomous The audio is, indeed, completely correct. Anyone who wants can buy the disc without risk. However anyone who needs to exchange a defective disc needs to call up Amazon and...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

Thanks!! It means a great deal to me to hear this. I was always fighting because I simply wanted to see the movie myself (it had never been released in widescreen without PAL-speedup before), but I always hoped I could help out other movie fans too. It's great to know I was right, and that what...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

I've brought everything this far, now I need to enlist everyone's help - to help yourselves. I already have the corrected disc, so I'm satisfied personally. However Amazon is still selling the old disc, and has the new disc on a separate page. So I'm not entirely happy. The quest has...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

In answer to how I got it, I called Amazon's 800# - (866) 216-1072 My first trick there is that I start by asking the operator where they are located. If they are not in the US, I politely say "I'm sorry, I need to call back" and keep doing so until I get an operator in the States. In my...

    Presumed Innocent/Frantic Blu-Ray - Double Feature Review

Ah, yep. When the film was released in French theaters, it apparently played largely in English, with subtitles. However Polanski had all the minor French characters redubbed in their native language and also had Ford and Buckley revoice certain lines of dialogue in French. For the life of...
