I'm sure the average Imperial veteran of the ground battle of Endor must think of the Ewoks as savage killers. :D

The older I've gotten, the more I've warmed to the Ewoks. I still find it funny that they planned to cook and eat Han Solo and I don't think it ended too well for the guys wearing all those Imperial helmets that were drums at the end of the movie.

Yeah, both are designed for children. Personally, I like Jar Jar more than the Ewoks especially since they managed to have some fun with him in The Clone Wars.

The EU is gone though. The last time that Boba Fett was chronologically seen in canon, he was swallowed by the sarlacc. That's dead to me but of course, I wouldn't be surprised if he was brought back. They've even set up an avenue for Fett's return in one of Star Wars: Aftermath novels (which...

I think two things really drove his popularity when SW had a resurgence in the 90's- the great costume and nostalgia for his toy.

Real answer: The Empire Strikes Back. Nerd answer: He was added to the special edition of A New Hope in 1997. Fett was introduced nationally in an animated segment in The Star Wars Holiday Special in November 1978. And if you were at the San Anselmo County Fair Parade on September 24, ,1978...

There's a kids game show called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge on starwars.com and their You Tube channel. It's like Double Dare (the old Nickelodeon TV game show) meets Star Wars. It's definitely for kids but I imagine that young SW fans will have fun with it...

I'm getting too in-depth even for a Star Wars thread :) but then TESB adaptation that you saw must have been either been Marvel Super Special Edition 2: or Marvel Super Special 16: The regular Marvel comic book series started running the adaptation in issue #39 (through #44) which came out...

Had you read the novelization/knew Vader was Luke's dad before seeing it? I know the individual issues of Marvel's adaptation weren't out in May and near as I can tell, the comic book treasury/special edition/paperback book that contained the full comic adaptation weren't released until after...

I'm glad I wasn't old enough to see TESB in 1980 because at only 126 theaters, I'd have been waiting until June 18 when TESB hit 35mm to see it because no way would my parents have driven the 40-ish miles to Allentown or Philadelphia to see it. Maybe I could have whined my way into King Of...

Thanks for the info! I wonder if that photo of the Loews is actually from opening day May 25, 1977 or slightly later as Star Wars picked up steam and had lines for a long time back in the days of large theaters. My guess is that it's from later but it's still a fun time capsule. The photo of...

Sad news, Charley Lippincott has died from COVID-19. He's not particularly well known but he was the marketing genius that had the foresight to take SW to the San Diego Comic Con the year before its release and got the novelization, the Marvel comic book adaptation, the toys, the shirts, the...

The Phantom Menace is, overall, probably the best PT score but Revenge Of The Sith has Battle Of The Heroes which is one of Williams' finest pieces. And when you're talking about John Williams, that's saying something. :)

Given the ubiquity of protocol droids in the SW galaxy, that Threepio is a different color than when he was owned by Owen and that Owen doesn't even learn C-3PO's name in the less than a minute that he's around him again, there's no problem with him not recognizing him as the droid that he owned...

I'd equate droids in the SW universe to electronics in our world. I don't remember the look or sound of a clock or phone that I had 22 years ago so I don't see a problem with Owen or Beru not remembering C-3PO.
