I was surprised that Rock Band 4 wasn't on the list of those that wouldn't work. Shame there's no PSN emulation or compatibility for PS3 games. Beatles Rock Band shall forever be in limbo once the PS3's crap out.

$650 for the disc one in Canada. Woof! I'm not going to pre-order, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks! Considering I waited on the PS4 until I could get it for free with "points", I'll probably do the same with this one haha.

I dig it. Maybe not enough to pre-order. but once it's confirmed on what discs it plays and having plex support I'll keep my eyes out for it. Did they ever confirm how deep backward compatibility will be? Is it only PS4 or well anything purchased on the PSN work?

Though if the PS5 does play PS1 discs, it would mean it could play CD's again, I think? :P

Interesting, but I'm not holding my breath. Also, no mention of PSN purchases/digital games. I would hope they are included!

Ah, I was under the impression that you still had to do some rental gimmick on PS Now, that you couldn't play anything and everything for a monthly price like watching a movie on Netflix. Or maybe I never understood it in the first place since it seemed too expensive at launch to justify just to...

I get where you all are coming from with backwards compatibility. It seems really niche to expect to be able to put in a PS1 disc and play the game. that said, I don't think it's uncalled for to expect to be able to play games purchased through the PSN, and there by being able to play your PS3...

Microsoft are probably doing it since their PC division competes with Steam. Sony sort of sold the PSN as that, but obviously nothing carried over to the PS4 from the PS3. I can understand the money motivation of not having things backward compatible either through hardware or emulation, it is a...

I'm keeping my eye on the PS5 and it's backwards compatibility. If it actually is true for PS4, I'll grab it sooner than later. If it's more PSNOW subscription garbage, I'll probably skip next gen entirely until I upgrade my TV and can justify a 4K player. I got a huge backlog of games, and not...
