Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I've created a new thread specific to talking about the ios, iPadOS, watchOS, Bug Sur upgrades. I moved OS-update specific posts from this event thread to that OS thread. Hope this works for us and doesn't cause confusion. :)...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I'll say this: the $200 Watch S3 as a fitness tracker is a great deal! I have come to *love* my S3 for fitness, especially during the Pandemic. If I were buying new, I'd probably get the SE model for the bigger screen, bigger battery, faster performance (but less money than the S6). But to enjoy...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Normally it’s very close to iPhones, right? This is like weeks or months ahead. I was surprised. 2020 is a weird year. :)

Ah, the iPad Air price increased $100. https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/09/15/compared-2020-ipad-air-versus-2019-ipad-air

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Upgrade to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14? Or wait for the 14.0.X or even 14.1 updates? I've not been following it closely, is it solid or iOS13 buggy? Do we have or need an iOS14 thread?

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Apple One The Family plan with music and appleTV and 200GB iCloud for $20/mo might be of interest to me. It's not awesome, but it's not terrible. Basically, is family plan music and appleTV worth an extra $17/mo? Maybe...? Apple Fitness I see the appeal. Not something I'll use. I don't see this...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Just watched the video, having not been online today and seen nothing about it :) Apple Watch SE is of interest to me. VO2 would be cool to have, since I'm getting more into exercise and jogging with my Watch. But the SE is a better fit in cost and practical compromise if I were buying new for...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I'm working full time in the office, so no realtime apple event for me tomorrow. haven't decided if I'll check the web for announcements during the day, or wait 'til I get home to watch the even proper. :) The safe bet is assume you can't run Windows on a new Apple Silicon Mac for at least the...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

I thought it was already said that Parallels or VMWare are being updated for ARM. Now, if you currently rely on Parallels to run Windows, you might be out of luck. No one yet knows if or when Windows will ever run on Mac ARM.

Apps should work. Apple demo'd virtualization of non-native apps in WWDC video.

new ARM computers, maybe they're announced next week. Maybe they get their own separate event in October. That's one of the curious questions everyone's waiting to see. With iPhone sales likely postponed to October and November, I'm guessing iPhones get their own event September 29. No reason...

Yes, that’s what I said: luxury or pro purchase

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

It’s because the basic iPad is so good that I don’t feel the iPad Air as a good purchase choice. The Air is basically twice the price of the iPad but is nowhere near twice as good. The Pro is super expensive, but is Apple’s top device with all iPad features, so I get that as a luxury or pro...

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

New iPad Pro is rumored for this year, but I don’t think it’s expected for next week. I don’t understand what’s going on with the iPad Pro, and have given up trying to guess if/when/what its next upgrade will be.

Time Flies: Apple event confirmed for 9/15

Not shopping for Watch this year. But if against all likelihood a new low cost, no bezel watch is announced, I’d think about upgrading from my S3. iPad Air. Normally, I’m all about buying the middle product. But with the iPad line, I don’t get the Air. The $329 iPad ($250 on kinda frequent...

Sounds like a watch event? Maybe not an iPhone event?
