A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection - in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Maybe everyone w/ that issue touched enough of the outer edge of the disc playback side -- given how the packaging works -- and that timecode vicinity just happens to be around the outer edge (on whichever disc layer)? Of course, it could also be whatever smudge/dirt/substance that gets on a...

Yep. I also created a custom settings profile under "Display Options" on my Sony X700 toward that end (to recover a little extra highlight details that are normally blown out on the BD counterpart), but at least on that player, you (inconveniently) can't access those settings until actual...

Yep. Once you have the conversion working well, the downconverted image can often look modestly better than the BD, especially if the BD's from an old, middling-or-worse master. I notice a slight improvement (on a large projected image) even compared to reference quality BDs like Braveheart...

I don't have this set (yet), but FWIW, I usually look for such issues w/ a substantial, single point light source (like my FP) in the dimmed/dark room to better see them. I (quickly) do this every time for 4K disc playback since they seem very susceptible to such, and haven't had any playback...

A Few Words About A few words about…™ The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection - in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Since you have the UK steelbook (and it sold out somewhat quickly IIRC), maybe you actually bought that before the US version was even released? The UK versions apparently actually came out a couple months before the US (both standalone and the masterpiece collection boxset). The only other...

Fortunately, they don't have "little hands" anymore as the youngest already turned 13, but OTOH, none of them has inherited my collector's (mildly OCD  ) mindset, so... And one woulda thought many years of private violin lessons and such would train them to be more careful w/ stuff, but...

I usually have mixed feelings about this type of packaging. I do like the way they look brand new, but things don't stay brand new for too long, especially when one has 3 kids regularly rummaging thru the collection (and misplacing or even yucking up stuff  )... although I suppose...

Ok, decided to do a search here... https://www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/a-few-words-about-%E2%84%A2-psycho-import-in-blu-ray.297641/post-3632230 Apparently, there was also one additional extra feature on the (old) UK version BD. _Man_

I don't recall (all) the exact details now, but I also opted to import the UK edition instead of American standalone version back in 2010(?). A quick check only indicates that the American version came w/ lossy DTS mono instead of lossless DTS-HD MA mono as being the diff -- and IIRC, that was...
