Huge grain of salt, obviously, but it sounds like something they would do after the success of Luke’s appearances and the new de-aging tech in Indiana Jones. Of course, this could be animated...
Unfortunately, I think using Han or Lando would necessitate a full length movie or series (especially since a Lando series was announced two years ago), just given the star power involved - although I'd certainly want to see them in anything. But hell yes, I'd love to see some Star Wars specials...
There isn’t a separate thread for Tales of the Jedi (that I could find) but I will say that between that show and Andor, we’re seeing some of the best Star Wars ever produced.
I was also thinking about how the Disney+ shows started after the movies (The Mandalorian started just as Rise of...
Probably not, but Kathleen Kennedy said something along the lines of not doing it because George didn't want to. If he were to say "ok, go ahead..." it could change things.
Taika Watiti said he will not start filming his Star Wars movie this year, and that he’s “still trying to figure out what the story is.”
I guess Lucasfilm’s going to need someone else to step up if they’re going to make that Dec. 2023 release date.
Yup. Once again, we see Hollywood learning the wrong lessons from a movie's disappointing box office. As you point out, Solo failed at the box office for a variety of reasons, not least of which was doubling the budget of the movie by firing and replacing the directors.
Alden Ehrenreich was...
I’ve been genuinely surprised at how many people put this one last among the prequels. For me, it’s no contest that Phantom Menace is last. That movie’s tone makes it seem like it’s from a different series. Only that film’s design and cinematography save it, IMO.
FWIW, I like Attack of the Clones. The biggest problem with it is that the Anakin-Padme scenes don't work, and that's a huge problem for the series. But that aside, the rest of the movie works well. Rewrite and reshoot the Anakin-Padme parts and the movie would be well loved.
Lengthy Vanity Fair article about the future of the Disney+ shows and what films to expect next. No real spoilers. A bit troubling that Lando isn't mentioned at all. And it doesn't sound like they will recast (like they did in Solo) again, instead going the route they used with Luke in the...
Jackson’s own words are too good not to share.
“I asked. I asked — the only person I’ve ever said that to, about coming back, was Bryce Dallas Howard, ’cause I just did a movie with her, and she directs episodes of ‘The Mandalorian,'” he said. “Said, ‘So you think you might be able to hook a...
Mind blown: just watched Lawrence Kasdan’s Silverado for the first time in years, and Maz Katana is Linda Hunt’s Stella. Same writer of both films, no way it’s a coincidence.
I’m assuming everyone is familiar with the events of The Book of Boba Fett episode 6. If not, you may want to skip this post, although I’m not really talking about the specifics of the episode.
Rather, I’m interested in the techniques used to bring Luke to the screen. According to the article...
I can’t believe we’re talking about the 25th anniversary of the special editions, which is five years longer than the 20 years the special editions were celebrating.
The world has now lived with the special editions longer than the originals. George Lucas played the long game here, and he won..
Parts of the Internet are having a meltdown today on the news that Lucasfilm and Disney have apparently reupped Kathleen Kennedy’s contract for three more years.
As I’ve said before, I think she does a good job, and Star Wars fans are lucky to have her in charge. I’ve had good and bad feelings...
Today I insisted we take a break from our release-order viewing and watch the last four episodes of Clone Wars, which serves as an alternative history to the end of the war and the events of which run concurrently with ROTS. It was great. They obviously set these up as a 100-minute film, as the...
