Warner Brothers own the rights to The Cardinal. It was produced by Otto Preminger Films and only had a distribution deal with Sony. Not sure when, Warner took over from the Preminger Estate. I think if you look at your DVD case it will say WHV.
And are those titles you think would go to another company ready to be released? We can gripe all we want to but Warners is not going to release anything until it's ready.
But the question is are those titles ready to be released? How much work has been done on the titles? Is there any interest from Criterion or other labels to release a certain title?
It’s not about licensing titles out to another label, for WAC and WHV have done it, but are the films in a condition to be released. If WAC continues to release 4 or 5 titles a month going forward then some of our have to have titles should be released.
Thanks Ron for sending the update. Disappointing for November, but I’m in for the December releases. Such two different titles, but both up my alley. 2023 sounds like it will be a really good year and looking forward to it.
Well wasn't gonna pull the trigger on Rachel Rachel or Abe Lincoln, however your right. If we want more releases, we need to support. They are ordered now.
If you listen to the latest podcast, you won't think that. Mr. F said many thing things that make me believe it's just starting up after this slow down.
