I just thought of another movie that I will most likely never watch again - The Green Mile.
Michael Clarke Duncan tore my heart out in that film. It put me through the emotional ringer and as wonderful as it was, I am not sure that I could ever go through it again.
DiaobolikDVD is also selling the 4K Collector's set as well. I got mine about a week after ordering. I ordered right after Christmas. I haven't had a chance to watch it, but the box is really nice and the steelbook is beautiful. I don't collect steelbooks, but the cover art was so much...
Extremely interesting thread. The best movies make an impact that is deeper than we assume. We can often be as affected by bad movies as by good - that is the power of art. There are many wonderful, well-made, beautifully acted and compellingly written films that I may only watch once.
I...
With my sister out of the country most of the month, I had to take care of my Mom's transportation and general care alone. That took a chunk out of my time. I really was enjoying the process and I have loved reading all the reviews. Looking forward to next year no matter which month it is in.
Well, I didn't get nearly as many watched as I would have liked. I've had some issues come up with my Mom and my sister was out of the country most of the month so everything fell to me. Not complaining, but it took up a lot of time.

What qualifications should he have? In my experience, film fans and enthusiasts often have considerably more knowledge than the so called "experts". I, myself was quite surprised at how little some of my film professors actually knew about some of the films they were teaching. I didn't finish...
OK. I'm off to a slow start, but at least it's a start. ;)
I am approaching this a bit differently than I did Halloween. I was going for quantity there and I really felt like I should look at the extras and listen to the commentaries to get the most out of the experience. I am doing that...
Well, I managed to fit in a few more today.
Sunday, October 30
26. Psycho (1960) The second time this month but this time it was at Powell Hall with the St. Louis Symphony playing the score live. It was amazing! I tried to focus on the music because I have seen the movie several times. In...
It's been a very busy few weeks. Here's what I've managed to squeeze in:
Monday, October 17
13. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Marcus Ronnie's ran this as part of their Retro Horror series. I've seen it several times, but it is always enjoyable and pretty remarkable on the big...
I did much better this past week.

4. The Watcher in the Woods (1980) Disney Movie Club Blu-ray, First Time Viewing.
I liked it. The settings and scenery are quite atmospheric and serve the story well. Not enough Bette Davis, though.
5. Psycho (1960) Universal 4K. I...
I'm off to a very slow start. The first weekend of the month was Hitchcon 2022 - the online Alfred Hitchcock conference and also starting on the first was the online edition of the Pordenone Silent Film Festival.
1. October 1: Frenzy (1972) First time viewing. The feature film attraction...
I know that a lot of people don't like the assigned seating method for the theaters but I love it! I can check ahead of time to see if the theater is going to be too crowded for my tastes and pick where I want to sit. I have skipped several screenings because they were already too filled.
That's the whole point. The contemporary association is that if a woman is assertive and successful some men consider them "nasty". The women represented in this collection were successful, innovative and in positions of power. When the film industry proved to be profitable, they were pushed...
A very tough question and lots of really great answers here. And I couldn't stay with just 10 factoring in US & International Shows. Too many.
Here are mine in no particular order:
US:
The Addams Family - My first celebrity crush was John Astin as Gomez. I loved his relationship with...
I think that streaming is part of the problem, especially if you want to expose people to older movies. People can't find what is not there and also what is not suggested by the algorithms that determine what you are inclined to like based on your viewing habits. Discovering or rediscovering...
Some films were released in the very early days of DVD and haven't been re-released since, so yes, they can be forgotten. And some films didn't get wide distribution and can also be forgotten. The Legend of 1900 (1998) was initially released by Alliance/Atlantis in 1999. I looked on Amazon...
