Kino Lorber Insider (Read Guidelines Post #3)

Great Universal lists, to which I'd like to add: Fast Charlie...the Moonbeam Rider, directed by Steve Carver, starring David Carradine and Brenda Vaccaro and many of our favorite character actors. :)

    Peterloo

Is there some reason why Mike Leigh's much underappreciated and underseen historic epic Peterloo has not been released on Blu-ray/DVD in the U.S.? (Yes, I know it's available streaming.)

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Three Ealing / Guinness Comedies - in Blu-ray

I saw the new restoration of Kind Hearts and Coronets at the 2019 TCM Film Festival and it was gorgeous. This restoration seems to be the transfer on the UK disc... but Kino got an older transfer? What a disappointment! Is the UK disc region-free?

Press Release Criterion Press Release: Tunes of Glory (Blu-ray)

I saw this restoration at last year's TCM festival and it's gorgeous. I've been hoping it would show up on Blu-ray and now my wishes are answered. If only I could see it on the big screen again, though.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Hello, Frisco, Hello / Pin-Up Girl / Mother wore Tights - in Blu-ray

I've watched Hello, Frisco, Hello and Mother Wore Tights -- haven't watched Pin-Up Girl yet. The quality is what I expect from these second-rate preservation elements. Skin tones have a weird, flat, brownish look and all the other colors look "off" or faded. Mother Wore Tights looks a bit...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Glass Bottom Boat - in Blu-ray

Doris held her own very nicely with Ray Bolger in April in Paris: She originally trained as a dancer until a car accident injured a leg and she had to give up that career goal.

Kino Lorber Insider (Read Guidelines Post #3)

I saw the premiere of the new restoration of Kind Hearts and Coronets at the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival this year, and you are all in for a real treat on Blu-ray.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Bend of the River - in Blu-ray

I saw the new restoration of Winchester '73 at the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival a couple of weeks ago, and I can confirm it looks absolutely gorgeous. Sure hope we get a blu-ray soon. Thank you for the detailed description of James Stewart's courageous service in the Army Air Corps.

Pre-Order Hook (4k UHD) Available for Preorder

I don't have 4K, just Blu-ray. Will the Blu-ray disc on this set also be a new transfer from the 4K remaster? In fact, that's a question I have about all these 4K remasters coming out with Blu-ray discs too. How many of the Blu-rays are actually new transfers?

My Universal Wish List From the Kino Deal

I'd love to see this really obscure David Carradine Universal pic released on Blu-ray (I don't think it even got a DVD release): Fast Charlie...the Moonbeam Rider. Cast includes Brenda Vaccaro, L.Q. Jones, R.G. Armstrong and Noble Willingham.

    MISSING DISNEY ON BLU-RAY

TCM aired The Journey of Natty Gann last night and used that beautiful HD master you wrote about. I recorded it and although I haven't had a chance to watch the entire movie, I did take a look and what a blessed relief to see it looking so good and in (finally!) widescreen. I still don't hold...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Aspect Ratios

    >Many theatres of that era had those horrible 2:1 screens with one-size-fits-all projection. They're doing a modern version of that today. At the Regal 24 in Chamblee, GA, the smaller theaters stay masked at 1:85 even if they're projecting a 2:35:1 film, so you get bars at the top and bottom...

VEI planning on Diagnosis: Murder release

Somehow I missed entirely that Diagnosis Murder was coming out on Blu-ray and I just found out about it. However, I can't find any reviews of the Blu-ray set. Has anyone seen it? How's the picture quality? Thanks!

    Danny Kaye on blu-ray?

Hi, I don't have any additional information re The Court Jester -- only the notes printed in the TCMFF program guide. Here is the link online: http://filmfestival.tcm.com/programs/films/the-court-jester-2/ Ileana Douglas held a delightful and very funny interview with Fred Willard before the...

    Danny Kaye on blu-ray?

I just saw the world premiere of a new restoration of The Court Jester this morning (Saturday) at the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival, and it's gorgeous. I really hope this is released on Blu-ray.

New Classics From Fox Cinema Archives (Blu-ray) December 2016

I couldn't find these on Amazon, so Oldies.com gets the order (Sentimental Journey, Sitting Pretty and Coney Island). Total blind buy. I don't have much confidence in the Fox Archives program, but we shall see.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Johnny Guitar - Olive Signature -- in Blu-ray

The Monroes due out 6 Sept

Brother Theodore, The Monroes release from Shout!Factory is a Walmart exclusive, so to get a copy, you'll either have to go to a Walmart or order from their webpage (I did the latter). While I'm delighted to have this series on disc, I have to report that the picture quality is very poor. The...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Silk Stockings -- in Blu-ray

A Few Words About A few words about...™ She Wore a Yellow Ribbon -- in Blu-ray

I also now have the SWAYR blu-ray and it's absolutely every bit as gorgeous as others have said. So happy I also got to see it in the theater at TCMFF! I wish they'd have one of those nationwide screenings usually done through Fathom Events.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ She Wore a Yellow Ribbon -- in Blu-ray

Any possibility that WAC would ship more quickly? I guess the good part of this is that it's selling well and hopefully that will translate into even more titles remastered for Blu-ray.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ She Wore a Yellow Ribbon -- in Blu-ray

I'm having the same problem with Amazon and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery...

She Wore a Yellow Ribbon & Love Me or Leave Me Blu-rays via WAC

Back from the TCM festival and... I thought the restoration of She Wore a Yellow Ribbon truly beautiful and I think it will be a wonderful Blu-ray. The screening was a new DCP. WAC says they will make the official announcement of the Blu-ray soon. The King and I. Well... I think they've done...
