Vintage TV currently scheduled/announced for release?

No offense taken, Ron. My comment was speculation that if a full series bluray release for MacGyver was the result of an outside company's involvement when CBS releases stalled after S1, would the two other stalled CBS bluray releases (I Love Lucy and Andy) be completed in a similar fashion - by...

Vintage TV currently scheduled/announced for release?

Gary, I agree with your definition of "vintage". I saw some 80's stuff mentioned and brought up the MacGyver release, but it doesn't fit the definition of vintage which is the topic of this thread. My apologies for veering off. At any rate, if CBS/P would license out Mac, I wonder if they would...

Vintage TV currently scheduled/announced for release?

Earlier this year there was talk of a German company releasing a complete MacGyver Bluray set sometime during the fall of 2020. I haven't heard anything about it for quite some time now, so maybe it's not happening.

    Bonanza "lost" episodes

I have been wondering whether or not we would see more releases for Bonanza. Now that we know the answer, will we see two seasons released at one time like Gunsmoke? Maybe not since we are probably looking at 2 volumes per season for S12 and S13. At least it looks like there is a chance the rest...

    FLINTSTONES ON BLU-RAY

I understand and agree with you. I'm just saying if knowledgeable people are involved the chances increase that we get a better release. Perfect? Probably not. Closer to perfect? More likely.

    FLINTSTONES ON BLU-RAY

I'm wanting a set of the 1960-1966 series that features the show as it originally ran. There should be people who would know how to put this together correctly - if Warner's will consult them.

Is it possible to get the original series that I originally watched with this BR release? That is what I want. End of story!

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

In addition to the b/w shows mentioned previously, I would like to see Richard Diamond and Love That Bob. The Life of Riley with William Bendix would be great, but with Fox, I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm still hoping for more 50's TV.

    Petticoat Junction-Remaining Series on DVD?

I would buy any further seasons of Petticoat Junction that CBS would release. In fact, I would prefer CBS releases over what I'm capturing from ME TV. If further seasons of Petticoat Junction are released by CBS, I'm buying. I just think it is unlikely CBS is going any further with Petticoat...

    Petticoat Junction-Remaining Series on DVD?

I'm capturing Petticoat Junction episodes from ME TV because I would like to view the rest of the series and do not believe there is any chance CBS will release further seasons. I watched Petticoat Junction during its original run. After the loss of Bea Benaderet, the show was never the same...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember Wally, Lippy and Touche running together as one show when I originally saw it back in the 60s. I don't remember that set of cartoons having a theme song that incorporated them all into one show. Each cartoon had it's own theme that would run before the...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

I have the Wally and Lippy sets, but I haven't heard anything definitive as to whether or not Touche will be released. Although the quality is down somewhat from previous HB sets, Wally and Lippy look much better to me than anything I remember seeing on Boomerang. Although Touche is third on my...

Blu-Ray Wish List for Vintage Television

You are correct and I should have said Region A as the R1 would be for a DVD release. To be more clear, I should have said a release for the USA.

    CBS Home Video/MOD RIP

I wonder if Gunsmoke S20 might already have been in the pipeline before the closure. Time will tell, but there will be a lot of unhappy people if Gunsmoke ends up stalled out at S19.

Which TV series previous released on DVD would you like to see released on blu-ray?

Right, but I am hoping for US Region 1 releases for these. I did pick up the Columbo S1 (Fabulous Films) and the S2 (Madman) Bluray releases that are available on Amazon. Both are Region B, and they look very nice for the most part.

Press Release Criterion Press Release: Three Fantastic Journeys by Karel Zeman (Blu-ray)

I have an old VHS tape of "Journey" that no longer plays well. I had seen a single Bluray release of "Journey" on Amazon.uk and was planning to pick it up. Now that this is going to be released in the US, I plan to pick up this release instead. I would like to see the price drop though.

Which TV series previous released on DVD would you like to see released on blu-ray?

Columbo, Emergency and The Fugitive (and these should all have existing HD masters). Route 66 - not sure about the condition of original elements. The rest of I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show (at least through the B/W years).

TV Shows needing a decent Re-Release?

I don't understand about Columbo not being released on Bluray either. There is also the first season UK release and the second season Australian release in addition to the Complete series Japanese release. I have thought about getting each of the individual S1 and S2 releases, but I'm sure as...

Shout Factory Leave it to Beaver complete series question

That's interesting, Brad. I had not noticed the cloudy film issue until recently. A few of my discs played fine even with the cloudiness issue, but some did not. I was able to completely remove the cloudy film from all of the affected discs and they all play fine now. I also wiped down the...

Shout Factory Leave it to Beaver complete series question

I noticed the same cloudy film on the dvd surfaces on my Shout LITB Complete Series set. It was primarily on the Disc 1 and Disc 6 of each individual season. I was able to remove all of it with a little rubbing alcohol on a lint free cloth.

Death Valley Days : The Complete 14th Season : The Ronald Reagan Years 2

Releasing S1-3 and then skipping to S13-14 doesn't give anyone confidence that all of the seasons will ultimately be released. While I understand the desire to promote the Ronald Reagan tie-in, I think people who are really interested in the show want the entire series, not just a few releases...

Death Valley Days : The Complete 14th Season : The Ronald Reagan Years 2

If Shout cannot complete this series, maybe another company can step in and get the remaining seasons released on DVD. Since the restoration work has been completed, it would seem at least a possibility.

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Yes, indeed. And I enjoying seeing it every time it appears on a DVD series release - it takes me right back to the era of 50s/60s TV.

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I have wondered if anyone has knowledge (other than WB) of the actual music used in 77 Sunset Strip; all of the cues, the background, etc. A detailed accounting of the music involved might allow someone to estimate the cost of clearing the music for a DVD release. A WKRP release was considered...
